On Saturday, August 1, 2009, 28-year old Justin Burkhart got off work at 9 pm and spent the night drinking and dancing with friends at the Underground, a nightclub on Northeast Third Street in Bend, Oregon. The group stayed until the bar’s 2 a.m. closing, then Burkhart invited friends back to his new apartment to have a glass of wine. He had just moved in two days before.
The group drank on the front porch of Burkhart's apartment complex in downtown Bend with other tenants of the complex until around 3:30 a.m., when two of his friends, who were brothers, left to walk the two female party guests back to their car a few blocks away. As the brothers were leaving, Burkhart said he was going to the Pita Pit to get something to eat. The friends told Burkhart that the restaurant had closed for the night, but he headed there anyway.
He only had his wallet and his keys with him.
A witness saw Burkhart walking near a footbridge next to Drake Park. It was the last time he was seen.
Eloisa Chavez, Burkhart's mother, and Teri DuFresne, a private investigator working on the case, believe Burkhart may have headed to the 7-Eleven on Galveston Avenue, about a half- mile's walk from his apartment, after finding the Pita Pit closed. DuFresne said employees of the 7-Eleven did not recall seeing Burkhart that night.
When Burkhart missed appointments with friends over the weekend and then didn't show up for work on Monday, he was reported missing.

Recovery
On June 7, 2010, Justin Burkhart’s body was found in the Deschutes River by a Bend city employee, just below the Newport Bridge. The body was dressed in pants, shoes and a shirt and Burkhart's identification was found on the body.
An autopsy determined he had drowned, and there were no signs of foul play.
The case was forwarded to the district attorney's office for review.
About Justin Burkhart
Eloisa Chavez, Burkhart’s mother, hired a private investigator to look into her son’s case. The investigator found no evidence to suggest that anyone wanted to harm Burkhart. He was known to be jovial, had a vibrant personality, was well liked, and had no known enemies.
Burkhart had some previous run-ins with the law for drug offenses, but after a 2-year stint in federal prison on a cocaine charge, it all seemed to be behind him. When he was released in 2008, he enrolled in Central Oregon Community College, and made the dean's list for the fall 2008 term.
In late 2008, he started working at Allyson's Kitchen in the Old Mill District, and started dating Rachelle Templin, his fiancée at the time of his disappearance.
“I was with him almost every day for a year," Templin, wrote in an e-mail to the Bend Bulletin," and I can honestly say that drugs were not part of his life. He was at work, school, or home with me for the majority of that time. He was doing great things, and trying to be the best man he could be.” (Bend Bulletin, 11/1/09).

In the days leading up to his disappearance, Burkhart was stressed because his fiancee was moving to Alaska to take a teaching job. Just two days before his disappearance, he had tried to persuade her to go get married at the courthouse, but she said turned him down. The couple had previously decided to put the wedding on hold so her income would not disqualify Burkhart from receiving grants to pay for school.
But while he was a bit down about these developments, there was no sign that he was depressed. In fact, he had purchased a plane ticket to visit Templin in Alaska in early September, and was planning to move there in November. He was even considering trading in the tickets for a plane trip to Hawaii, where he might meet Templin in September and marry her. His co-worker Serena Searcy also said Burkhart was an “open book” who would have likely told her if he was feeling threatened by anyone or if he were seriously depressed.
A Celebration of Life was held at the Riverbend Community Park on July 17, 2009 in Bend.

This case was sent to me by a fan and family member of Justin's. I did a private chart for her and then did some more work for her and then decided to place this on the blog. This young man was called a suicide without so much as a minute of investigation, although he was found face down in a river. Nobody considered how he got there and like so many other cold cases, this one is dead. His family wants to know the truth, however, and when I saw the charts I came to realize, only after several reviews of the case, that this young man was murdered. He deserves an open investigation.
Since I already ran charts on this case and know that the findings dovetail with the known facts, I start my post here with the last time he was seen, at 3:30 in the morning, when he left his home, seen and acknowledged by friends still there, to get food, as reported above.. Although there are some differences in what I find here, which merit thought and consideration, they do not alter the original findings. So let me show you what I found.
Here you see his marker, the Moon, disposed of by Saturn which is leaving the fourth house for the third. This describes him leaving his home (fourth house) for a trip along the road in his neighborhood (third house). The Moon is conjoined Pluto so he had a head of steam built up and he was not happy. He was angry, in fact. He may have stormed off. This marker along with Pluto in the sixth is the marker for someone who will never be seen alive again. Unfortunately, this came true.
Mercury, the fourth house ruler, is in the third in Virgo (dignity), showing us movement. Virgo is an earth sign so he is on foot, which we know to be true. Mercury in Leo with Leo as a fixed sign we know he is going somewhere he had been before (fixed signs describe habits). As a secondary thought, Leo rules the fifth house, which also describes restaurants and entertainment venues.
There are markers in this chart that I missed in my first analysis. For instance, the seventh house ruler, Saturn, in the third also indicates the presence of another person. His marker, the Moon, in the sixth with Pluto shows that he is still angry and has issues over something. The sixth house may be indicating his desire to find food but it's not a typical indication. But here's the big thing for me: His marker, the Moon, being disposed of by the seventh house marker describes the person he is angry at and this person, shown again by Saturn, seems to be either with him in that area or following him on the path. I am not sure which is the case but this person he is angry with is following him along this path.
Saturn, on the other hand, is disposed of by Mercury in the second, an indicator that money is involved. Mercury is the marker for thieves so perhaps something was stolen. Mercury is also in the last degree of Leo, which means a change in that situation is eminent, moving into Virgo near Saturn. I believe this person stole something from Justin and this started an argument but I have no idea why this thief is now following him.
The second house ruler, the Sun, rising in the first tells me that money was a huge part of this situation and I do not believe Justin was looking for food, I think he was looking for an ATM. Perhaps he was concerned about the balance in his account? Had a card been stolen? The idea that he might have been looking for an ATM is supported by the tenth house ruler (his next location) being Mars in Gemini in the eleventh house. Mars, the tenth house ruler, is again disposed of by Mercury, our marker for the money in this case.
And let me add this. Even though I realize they found Justin's body in that river a year later, there is nothing in the charts for the night he disappeared to indicate he actually died that night. I also do not believe that he returned to that river in the months that followed and then just jumped in. I believe he was murdered.
This chart for early morning shows Justin under his own power (first house ruler in the first) while someone else approaches in a car (seventh house ruler in the ninth). This is along a highway and not the path where the bridge was. He is walking along a highway or interstate. Uranus in Pisces indicates another bridge but an air sign means it's very high and not a low bridge over a brook. This is over a larger waterway. This car is traveling from that direction.
Moon and Pluto in the fifth tell us that Justin may be calmer now but he is still angry. He could still get into a fight.
Mars ruling the tenth in Gemini and in the eleventh house shows us his current location is an area with a crossroads, such as where two roads cross or there are more than one exit from an interstate. Moon ruling the eleventh also implies that he is thinking about a friend and thinking of visiting or calling this person. I do not see that this friend is the person in the approaching vehicle.
This is the chart where I first see Justin being abducted. This person in the car, coming along, is a criminal. A bad person. And then I see Justin in the trunk. His ruler is moved into the twelfth, which has him out of view and not visible. Mercury in the first substantiates the theory that he was put into a vehicle and the third house ruler, Venus, is also the tenth house ruler which shows his current location to be a moving object. Venus in Cancer describes the car as an older dark blue vehicle (Venus disposed of by the Moon in Capricorn) which is in poor shape or what is called a "beater" (Moon conjoined Pluto).
Sun in the twelfth shows Justin hidden from view in a dark place (the trunk most likely) and since the Sun is in dignity then he is still alive.
The seventh house ruler consistently in the eighth house shows criminals and criminal activity. Dangerous people. Uranus disposed of by Neptune in the sixth indicates selling drugs. Mercury opposing Jupiter and Neptune reasserts this idea with Mercury being the "merchant". And since Mercury is in the first, I believe they took Justin for their drug operations. They have people they force to run drugs, to take the risk of being caught instead of being killed. Saturn in the second here shows us how hard it was for Justin to make the money he dreamt of making and it is probable they promised him money and safety in exchange for loyalty. And if he resists, then there is always violence. I do not believe that Justin just went along with this although his money situation was a feature in the argument he'd had and what he was stewing about. This may have made him more vulnerable to these creeps.
I ran the charts forward to see the outcome of this and in this chart, later in the day, Justin is still alive. He is, however, meeting with someone in the woods or on the highway that runs alongside the woods. This is shown by his marker, Venus, in the ninth house with the seventh house marker, Mars. They may have taken him out somewhere and beat him up. Mars in Gemini may indicate more than one man there so that more than one person kicked his butt to get control over him.
This chart, even later in the day, not only shows him still alive but with his abductor (Venus and Mars together in the eighth) discussing the criminal activity (eighth house) and the money (second house). Moon and Pluto in the second indicates a good shakedown to let him know that they expect the money and no "monkey business", as they say. Even if not, they are discussing criminal activity and money so this is why I think they used him in their drug running business.
I do not see Justin dieing that day. When I did the private chart for family I ran the charts ahead to when his body was discovered and saw that he was forced into the river and drowned. I saw his murder at that point. But I have no idea how long they held him in the meantime. I am pretty sure he was drowned many months before he was found because his body was deteriorated when discovered. It wasn't fresh. I am just not sure when this happened or even why. But these people use other people as mules or slaves and then dispose of them when they are done with them. I am positive this is what happened to Justin.
A stark black and yellow mask from the Marvel Comics character Wolverine might give Jackson County Sheriff's Department detectives a look into the final hours of a man who was murdered along the Bear Creek Greenway outside Central Point in early September.
Investigators discovered the distinctive mask at a campsite near where Troy Dean Carney, 44, was found dead in a sleeping bag Sept. 4, hidden in brush between the Central Point freeway interchange and Table Rock Road.

Investigators tracked down a couple who had left one of the camps a few days before the murder likely occurred on Sept. 1 and a man who moved on from one of the others in the weeks following the crime, Fagan said. But at the final abandoned camp, they found only a small dome tent and a scattering of debris and personal items, including the Wolverine mask, which was propped up as if on display.
"It might not have anything to do with the murder, but we hope it can help us narrow down who had camped there," Fagan said.
Investigators want to talk to whoever stayed there to find out if they had seen Carney or anyone with him in the days or hours before he was killed.
Carney had lived in the Rogue Valley 10 years ago, but in the past decade had traveled the country with truckers. He worked as a "lumper," loading and unloading trucks and riding along with the driver, Fagan said.
This summer, Carney rode into the Willamette Valley from Idaho. He decided to visit old friends in the Medford area and stayed with them for a while, but his presence stressed their relationship, they told investigators. Carney planned to camp near the Central Point truck stop until he could find a ride to a larger transportation hub where he could resume his nomadic lifestyle, Fagan said.
Carney ate at the Pilot and used the phones there. In the parking lot, he offered to do odd jobs, such as polishing chrome, for truckers to earn money. He was last seen in surveillance photos at the business on the evening of Sept. 1, wearing camouflage cargo shorts and a dark T-shirt, the same clothes he was found dead in, Fagan said.
"He was pretty friendly," Fagan said. "We're hoping somebody saw him Sept. 1 or later."
Carney's friends thought he had left the area until his mother in Florida called to ask where he was, as she hadn't heard from him and he usually called regularly. His friends called police to see if the man found dead near the Greenway could be Carney. It was.
In the days following the discovery, many of the homeless men moved their camps out of the immediate area because they were afraid, Fagan said.
Around 1 a.m. on Sept. 14, however, someone returned to set a fire in the midst of the now-empty campsites. Distance and natural barriers kept fire crews from the blaze for 24 minutes, so by the time they arrived to douse the flames, no one was around.
Still, investigators say the fire was intentionally set and they suspect it could have been started to cover up evidence and keep detectives away.
They would like to talk to anyone who has information on the fire. They also want information on the mask and who might have owned it. They also would like to talk to anyone else who Carney might have associated with around the time of his death.
Police believe the murders of an Ashland man living on Dead Indian Road and a transient camping out along the Bear Creek Greenway last September might be linked.
A little over a year has passed since David E. Lewis, 46, was found inside his burnt home in the 12800 block of Dead Indian Memorial Road and Troy Dean Carney, 44, was discovered at his campsite, the victim of a gunshot wound.
Nine days after Carney was found a fire swept though the area where he had been camping. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set by someone trying to destroy the scene of the crime.
"We find two men killed by homicidal violence on the same day and both scenes were covered by fire," Jackson County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Colin Fagan said. "We cannot ignore the commonality here."
In addition, sheriff's investigators believe they have discovered a piece of evidence linking both crimes, but they decline to specify what it is.
"We need to keep that to ourselves so we know good tips from bogus ones," Fagan said. "If someone gives us that information we know we are onto something."
However, investigators have yet to find a link between to the victims.
Despite spending hundreds of man hours pursuing leads in the cases, detectives have yet to prove Carney and Lewis knew each other.
"We are fairly certain these two never spoke to each other when they were alive," Fagan said.
By releasing the information that the crimes might be linked, detectives are hoping someone might contract the department with information connecting the victims.
"Maybe we are overlooking something," Fagan said.
The men led different lifestyles.
Lewis had deep roots in the local community. He was a longtime area resident, known for protecting the land and helping neighbors., according to his family.
Investigators suspect someone ventured up the long driveway to his secluded mountaintop cabin, then had come inside and killed him. Detectives aren't disclosing how Lewis died. They also note that the total destruction of the cabin has eliminated much evidence.
Investigators haven't turned up a motive or suspect in the death of Carney, who was also found dead Sept. 4. Carney's body was found in a sleeping bag off a path that leads away from the Bear Creek Greenway between the Central Point freeway interchange and Table Rock Road. He had been shot at close range a few days earlier.
Carney had lived in the Rogue Valley a decade ago and had recently returned. In the interim he had worked as a "lumper," loading and unloading trucks and riding along with drivers.
"They lived different lives, but we cannot ignore the similarities in their deaths," Fagan said. "These have been long, exhausting investigations."
The sheriff's department is asking the public's assistance in providing information which links the victims. Tips can be left anonymously at the sheriff's at 774-8333.

The cops found Troy's body on Sept 4th but believe he was killed on Sept 1. That fits some of the findings I have in the charts for these dates. A few people camping nearby had bolted on the 1st and when they were found later they said they had heard gun shots. They claim this happened at night. But when I look at the charts for Sept 1, I find the most likely time for the murder was later in the morning.
Let me start out by saying that I think he was actually murdered on the day after he was last seen, on September 2nd. Even so, the first chart here, for the time he was last seen on September 1st, you can see the death pattern emerging. There are some strange aspects here, as well, including Neptune, together with the node, in the first house and the chart ruler, Uranus, also in the first, in mutal reception with Neptune and both planets retrograde. The death pattern appears mostly focused in the eighth house with the Moon, the fourth house ruler, the tenth house ruler and the eighth house ruler clustered together. The seventh house ruler, as well, is conjoined Saturn, which rules the twelfth. All of this looks like a set up of some sort, with my impression being a robbery or, at the least, a murder over money. The tenth house ruler is lord of chaos, Pluto, and he is in the eleventh. I would bet he was murdered by someone he knew, an associate of sorts and even someone he considered a friend.
Pluto is disposed of by Jupiter in Capricorn in the twelfth, another marker that makes me think this looks a lot like a robbery. But with Jupiter, in turn, disposed of by Saturn in the seventh, it may very well have been a debt or money owed to another person. Or conversely, he could have been trying to collect on a debt or on money owed to him for work he had done. I tend to favor the idea that he had gone to the truckstop to get money owed to him by someone he had done work for. I say this because the sixth house ruler the Moon is in the eighth, the second house ruler, Neptune, is in the first and the seventh house ruler, the Sun, is disposed of by Mercury in the eighth. This all looks like Troy had done work (sixth house) for which he expected to be paid (Moon in the eighth) and he went to the truck stop to pick the money up because this was what he had planned to do (node in the first with Neptune, which rules the second house).
The Sun rules the seventh house and is conjoined Saturn in Libra, which is in exalted. My guess would be that this person was someone much older than Troy. The exaltation of the ruler also implies strength, authority and more power than Troy would have. Also note that the Sun, which rules the seventh, is disposed of by Mercury in Libra in the eighth and Troy was shot in the head. Mars and the Moon hug Mercury tightly in a domino stellium configuration. Mars often represents aggression or an attack in the forensic chart and in most cases, it represents a gun. Libra, an air sign, often shows objects that are up in the air or flying through the air, such as bullets.
Because the chart for 6 pm has a death pattern emerging, it is crucial to look very closely at the charts that follow. Pluto and Mars ruling the tenth with Mars in the eighth and Pluto disposed of by Jupiter in the twelfth, you can see that danger of death is likely. Also we must watch Saturn, which rules the twelfth house and is conjoined to the seventh house ruler. When we run the charts forward to 8 pm that evening, we see that Mercury now rules the seventh and is closely conjoined the Moon and Mars. The first house ruler, Neptune, is now in the twelfth house with the node. The death pattern has temporarily disappeared. That does not mean that events will not emerge later that could fulfill that prediction. But the first house ruler has retreated to the twelfth house with the node, which tells me that Troy has escaped in some fashion and gone into hiding. He is making himself scarce on purpose. I cannot tell if he planned this in advance or if this was a scheme he devised on the spur of the moment. And with Mars angular in the seventh within seconds of the Moon, someone is not happy. This looks like emotional upset and anger to me. Clustered together they are with the seventh house ruler, Mercury, and the second house ruler, Venus, could it be that Troy had something that someone else wanted? Bad enough to kill him? This line up makes that seem possible.
The charts stay stagnant for awhile so I run them ahead as far as I can until I see something developing. You don't always have to do this with forensic charts, in fact, in 8 out of 10 charts the entire event plays out in the first chart for the time last seen. But this chart is moving slowly and things are developing in a slow and indefinite pattern. After running charts for every hour after 8 pm, I notice that the chart for 2 am shows someone in the area (seventh house ruler in the third house). This planet is disposed of by Mercury in the fourth house with the first house ruler also in the fourth. So this is someone coming into Troy's camp while he is there. And please remember that the time on our clocks is not the very same as time in space. The clocks say 2 am but the actual real time is somewhat variable.
It does appear that this person was looking for something in the area of Troy's campsite. Troy was in his campsite at the time and this person was just circling. But Saturn disposed of by Mercury so close to the Moon in the fourth shows a definite purpose involving Troy's belongings or campsite or even Troy himself. Mercury rules the hands and often shows up as theives and pick pockets. And then in the chart for 3 am, I can see that there is a group of people now in the area around Troy's campsite. I do not know if this was a party at a neighboring campsite or people actually visiting with Troy. But the Moon is moving out of the fourth into the third, showing us Troy joining the group. He is actually coming out and leaving his campsite to do so. All of these planets are disposed of by Venus, also in the third, in the sign Libra. Venus rules the eleventh house so we are seeing a group of friends and acquaintances. These people were not strangers to Troy. These planets include all of the angular rulers in the time chart so these are people who played a big part in this event.
I realize that general reports say the police believe he died around 4 am on Sept 2nd but the charts are showing him alive at 5 am. Again, I have to reassert that time in space does not correlate exactly to time as we know it. We manipulate time to facilitate commerce but actual time in space has everything to do with distance so the two concepts don't always converge. You have to trust me on this. This does happen in the early morning hours but not at the exact times as the charts that reflect the events.
All in all, I do not see the death pattern coming to perfection until the chart drawn for 9 in the morning. I do see that, at 5 am, the group has scattered but some of them are still hanging around. One person in particular appears to be going through Troy's things (shown by the seventh house ruler in the second, disposed of by Mercury, also in the second). But Troy is still alive (first house ruler in the first) even if there is a bit of a disruption going on around his campsite (fourth house ruler Pluto in the fifth). But this looks more like an ongoing party rather than a fight or other disturbance. The only omen towards danger that I see in the chart for 5 am is the mutual reception between Uranus and Neptune with Neptune at the seventh cusp and Uranus in the eighth. Someone definitely has an ulterior motive. Somebody is up to no good.
In the chart for 6 am, Pluto enters the fourth house and the angular planets are now in the second. There is a disruption at Troy's campsite, with people going through his things or trashing the place. Venus and Mars ruling the tenth and fourth houses and being strongly placed in the second makes me think that this is a couple (man and woman, married or not) with whom Troy had been or was currently involved. There appears to be a conflict over an object or item of value. The position of Mercury in between Venus and Mars confirms that Troy is somehow involved in this conflict, whether this is a man and woman he knows or a woman he had been involved with romantically. It looks more like a man and a woman he might have known that had an altercation over some item of value and perhaps an item (or money) that Troy either had in his possession or they believed he did. This is seriously what this chart appears to be saying. And this all the while another player, someone in the background, is up to something else and has an ulterior motive (Pisces on the seventh with Neptune disposed of by Uranus in the seventh). Quite the soap opera.
Even with all this confusion and interacting between people at the campsite, Troy is still alive and well at 7 am. There are no oppositions in these charts, so there are no direct pointers. Anger is present but not with the kind of intensity an opposition would create. In fact, most of the planets are under the Earth and only mildly aspected. Even the squares from Jupiter in Capricorn in the fifth to the cluster of planets in Libra in the second are soft ones. The energy planets in the pattern, both Jupiter and Mars, are in fall positions, which diminishes their strength and actually makes them weak. Jupiter has no power at all in this chart but Mars has some power as an angular ruler. However, Mars is in fall in Libra, disposed of by Venus, also in Libra and thereby exalted and Venus rules the tenth and third houses. The tenth house rulership and the exaltation in placement makes me think the real player in this set up is either a woman or a man with feminine qualities. This does not mean a gay man but it does not preclude one, either.
I must add a few things, though. These planets are on both sides of Mercury, also in Libra, in the second house. These three planets, along with the Moon, create a powerhouse stellium. Mercury rules the first house, giving it the most power but it also rules the second. Mercury describes bills and paper money. So perhaps this is the money that Troy was paid earlier that day, when we went to the truckstop? Could they have followed him back, intent on stealing it? Or did they feel he owed them something and they came here to collect? It's hard to tell.
Even so, the real omens of imminent danger do not appear until 8 am. Looking at that chart, you will see that Venus and Mars have just entered the first house with Mercury (the first house ruler) and the Moon (the chart co ruler) sandwiched in between. Venus and Mars rule the eighth and ninth houses. This while the seventh house ruler, Neptune, is now in the fifth house. I will tell you this, that Mars rules the eighth house and it is climbing the first towards the Ascendant, is a sign of pending violence. Saturn has entered the twelfth house while Saturn is the standard marker for a dead body and the twelfth house is the house of endings (including end of life). At this time, you should also note the seventh house ruler, Neptune, in the fifth house with the node. Someone is drunk or high on drugs. This is something that always happens with this person. He or she plans out their day around getting high or drinking and the homeless camp is the place they do it. So someone is drunk or stoned.
Jupiter has entered the fourth house and in doing so, has given power to Saturn in the twelfth. Pluto is right at the nadir, a harbinger of an upset, at the least, or, at the worst, a major change bordering on chaos. To give this even more energy, Uranus at the seventh cusp is square to Pluto, a configuration that describes agitation. So with these perfecting aspects, Pluto at the nadir, Saturn in the twelfth, the twelfth house ruler in the twelfth, the eighth house ruler in the first and the fourth house ruler in the fourth, we can actually see the death pattern that began earlier reaching an apex.
In the chart for 9 am you see his actual death. You can see it was caused by a gun shot to the head. Mars conjoins Mercury right at the first house cusp with the first house ruler, Venus, falling into the twelfth. Mars rules the seventh so there was a man with a gun there at this time and he shot Troy. All of these planets are disposed of by Venus and Venus rules the eighth, so this person had the purpose of killing Troy. He actually came to the campsite to do this. Moon rules the tenth and is placed in the first, so he was killed out in the open, in a public place. Venus and Mercury together in the twelfth tell me he was asleep when he was shot. This is asserted by Neptune in the fifth as well. Neptune, the planet of sleep, in the fifth house, the house of the bedroom. Troy was shot in his bed. He wasn't shot elsewhere and put there. He was asleep when he was shot. Mars rules the seventh but it also rules the second, so I must assert again that Troy was killed over money. This was not a personal vendetta or a serial killer passing through but someone he knew. Someone who either wanted something Troy had or beleived Troy owed him. The money markers are just too strong in these charts for the motive to be anything else.
I want to take a shot at describing the person who shot Troy. This was a man, as I have already stated, but there may have been a woman present at the same time. Mars in Libra gives a man with a swagger, the type of guy who likes women and fancies himself a playboy. But he is not above smacking his women around and may have had previous run ins with the law over domestic abuse or hurting women he was messing around with. Libra makes him tall and on the thin side, with long bones and fingers. Soft, almost feminine features such as long eyelashes and dimples but a strong desire to appear manly so there may be a history of working out with weights or participating in muscular sports. He may have been, at one time, a body builder. He may also have a fondness for art, especially body art, and he probably has tattoos. Mostly romantic ones like hearts with women's names and figures of beautiful women. Libra describes a person who is always on the move, doesn't like to sit still, and is involved with many different people. In women, it creates a "social butterfly" so picture a man who mingles with a lot of people and travels around, very rarely settling down. If he does work, it will be on the road. This was Troy Carney's lifestyle, as well, so it would not be unusual for these men to run across each other along the way.
Now, in relation to the queries about this case being similar to the case of David Lewis, who was killed not far from where Troy was killed and that police believe there were similiarities, most especially the fact that both crime scenes were set on fire. This chart seems to describe someone Troy knew and that the motive was money. Oddly enough, I remember the David Lewis charts well enough to recall that there was a woman in that case who was after something David had. But whether those similarities can tie the two cases together, I am not yet sure. I am reworking the David Lewis case at this time and will post it in the near future. At that time, I will look for links between these two cases and see if the cops are onto something with their theory.
PORTLAND, Ore. (CBS/KOIN/AP) The FBI's Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team flew in a profiler on Sunday, in hopes of providing clues in the search for second grader Kyron Horman, who disappeared on Friday.
Local detectives interviewed hundreds of parents, staffers and students of Skyline Elementary School in Portland, Ore. Family members and friends distributed fliers. And, despite Sunday's rain, dozens of volunteers continued slogging through an ever-widening search area around the school.
Despite all that, 7-year-old Kyron Horman remains missing.
Kyron and his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, were at the school together early Friday. She took him around the school to look at various science fair projects. The stepmother says that at about 8:45 a.m., she left and saw Kyron apparently walking toward his classroom.
At the end of the school day, when his father and stepmother did not find him getting off the school bus at 3:45, they called the school.
That's when they finally found out that Kyron had not been in class all day long. They had not been informed, during the day, that Kyron had not been in class.
On Monday, Kyron's father also revealed new details on the last time he saw his son -- less than two hours prior to his disappearance.
"He was coming back to the house after feeding our cat (Bootsie), and I was heading out to the car to head into the office," Kaine Horman recalled in the media release. "I walked over to him, told him I was extremely proud of him ... and for him to have a great and fun day at the science fair. ... I said, 'I love you.' He said, 'I love you too, Dad,' at which point we hugged, and then he went into the house as I got into the car and left. While I have not seen him since, that moment in time is still etched in my mind as if it just happened and is a constant reminder of the joy of having him as a son."
Kyron's parents said they and Young's husband, Tony, "have taken polygraphs and have voluntarily undergone any and all sessions with law enforcement and will continue to do so as long as it takes."
They say they remain hopeful that their son is still alive. They insist they will not stop looking for him until he is found.
"All of us care very much about bringing this person to justice and bringing Kyron home, and we will not stop until that is done," they said in the statement.

I have been made aware of the reports that Kyron was seen at the science fair that morning. This is a fact. He was caught on video. On re-analyzing the charts, I find that there are a few things I missed or simply misread. A big difficulty with this chart is that this child was with a stepmom and not a blood relative and so the charts are a bit skewed. For instance, if this were his father, then the fifth house would read for Kyron. But because it is a stepmom, then I beleive the seventh house is read for her, instead of the first and the eleventh house describes the child. Mercury is in the eleventh so this is supported by the chart. In the original reading, I simply read Mercury from the start because this is the traditional marker for children.
In the chart for 8 am, Mercury is in the eleventh disposed of by Venus in the first. Venus is in Cancer, disposed of by the Moon. This is the person that appears to be in custody of the boy, the stepmom. Venus also rules the eleventh, so it may also describe where the child is at that time, which is with the stepmom, I believe. Moon, the chart co ruler, is placed in the ninth, which shows the boy most likely on school grounds. The eleventh house is a marker for science and technology so this makes total sense. Also, Mercury in the eleventh shows the child to be a part of something that has to do with science and technology. Hence, I admit, this appears to be the science fair.
At 8:30 am, Saturn, the seventh house ruler, moves into the third house. This shows the stepmom leaving the building and going outside. I am not sure yet if this shows her in a car. She is, at this time, just outside the door and has not left. The Moon, the chart co ruler, is still in the ninth, keeping an emphasis on the school. But here is the catch I see here. Venus, the eleventh house ruler, has moved into the twelfth, showing something hidden or being hidden. Mercury, the natural ruler of children, is disposed of Venus from the eleventh. Combine this movement with the movement in the chart for 9 am and I am convinced something hinky went down at the science fair.
At 9 am, the Moon moves into the eighth while the eleventh house ruler, Venus, remains in the twelfth. At this same time, the seventh house ruler, which is now Uranus, is back in the ninth, showing the step mom back on school grounds. But notice how Jupiter is also there, conjoined to Uranus. I beleive this is a second person, someone else who was with her. And just after 9 am, Mercury, the natural ruler of children, moves into the tenth, which, in this chart, is the twelfth house of the child. Something secretive and sneaky happened on the school grounds right after the science fair and it involved this child and his stepmother. She hid the child somehow or secreted him without being seen. And when you note that Pluto is in the fifth (the natural house of the father's child) and the Moon is disposed of by Neptune, also in the eighth, a grim picture begins to develop. Neptune is disposed of by Uranus, the seventh house ruler, which shows that the secret action was taken by the stepmom. And since Jupiter is disposed of by Neptune, this shows the other person to be there for the expressed purpose of helping with this secret action.
Uranus is disposed of by Mars in the second, so she used something that belonged to her husband. This may show that she intended to frame him for this. Check that Mars is also disposed of by the Sun, in the eleventh house, which seems to confirm this.
In response to the information that the woman drove a pickup truck and did not have a "trunk" as described in the first analysis, I must clarify. I never know what kind of vehicle the person is driving and the charts do not know the difference. When I use the term "trunk" I am referring to the "place where things are stored" in a vehicle. This is shown by the 2nd house or the twelfth house of the third. The charts show the boy in the twelfth house of the third house, or second house, which is the "trunk" or "compartment" of a vehicle. If this was a large enough pickup truck, then perhaps this is a storage compartment in the backseat or on the bed. Perhaps, as well, it is simply the backseat or the bed, if this was used in this way. The charts can never tell us the make and model of a vehicle and the idea that they could is pretty funny. I stay with my original statement that he was in a "trunk", or otherwise to be called a "storage area" in the vehicle in question.
And then, in response, to the sightings of another person in the truck at the school, I have addressed that in the update. My original analysis regarding her "picking up" someone else at a later hour was simply my inability to figure out where the other person came from. I still do not know. I just know now that this person was in the truck all along and was "picked up" earlier than I previously thought.
Now this is far as I want to go in re-analyzing the charts. From the beginning, when reading the seventh house for the stepmom, you get the ninth house as her third, showing her vehicle. So while this can be taken that the child was on school grounds, based on a traditional ninth house analysis, you must also consider the involvement of her vehicle, based on the seventh house vantage point. So this is where charts can get really confusing and sometimes impossible to just tear apart. In this instance, I stand by the remainder of the original reading. I just concede at this point in the analysis that they had to have gone to the science fair, which is a proven fact, so I went back over the charts to show how this might be shown there. Remember, this isn't about me being the best astrologer in the world, which is sort of ridiculous, but about using astrology to help solve crimes. I always welcome other astrologers and their analysis, which I will print unedited. We are all trying to learn, including me. No one knows everything. And so I submit my current re-analysis of this case but be assured that it is likely not the last as more information comes to light.
MY ORIGINAL ANALYSIS FOLLOWS:
This case is all over the TV night after night. I think the ladies on HLN have pretty much decided who is guilty in this one but that won't keep me from peeking at the charts. Besides, I had a beloved cat named Bootsie who was with me for 20 years and died about 4 years ago. So I just had to see what happened to this sweet little boy or, at best, what the charts have to say about it. Also, there are a chorus of readers of this blog asking me to do this chart now. So, going on the general information that the boy was last seen at home around 7am, I run up a chart and compare it to the reports. Luckily, the chart echoed the father's story so I decided to go ahead and post it.
This chart has Cancer rising with Venus in the first house in Cancer. Since both the first house and the Moon rule the parents, I take note of the Moon in the tenth house. The fifth house is ruled by Venus, making this Kyron's marker, and it is placed in the first house, as already noted. The seventh house is ruled by Capricorn, representing the father, and Saturn is in the fourth. This dovetails with the father's story. He was at home with the boy and the boy was with his wife for the most part. His wife, represented by the Moon in Pisces in the tenth house, was moving around the property. With the Moon disposed of by Neptune in the ninth, this seems to hint that she was hiding something in the yard or had gone outside to find something she had hidden there. The very first aspect the Moon makes at this time is a sextile to the node; this shows she has some plan. I'm not just saying that, but the node points to deliberate planning, on the one hand, and, on the other, circumstances suddenly created by fate. The node being in the seventh house and disposed of by Saturn in the fourth points at the father as being the connection. I think what the chart is saying is that the father had the boy and it was through her marriage (seventh house) that she connected with the boy (the node).
I think it's interesting that the Moon rules the first, which is the traditional marker for the mother. The Moon in these charts always defines one of the parents. And when you see the fifth house ruler is Venus and it is placed in the first house in Cancer, it makes sense but it also raises questions. Kyron is with the stepmother but was this the usual routine or did she create a new circumstance on this particular morning? Kryon, it appears, goes into the backyard or somewhere else outside of the residence (Venus disposed of by the Moon in the tenth). Venus is disposed of by the Moon, which rules the mother, showing that he is there because of her. The Moon, her marker, is Neptune in the ninth, showing she is there for something she had hidden outside. Neptune in the sign of Aquarius hints at something hidden in a high place such as in the eaves of the house, on the roof, on the top shelf of an outside storage shed, in a tree or otherwise "up in the air". Neptune is also retrograde so this item had been hidden for quite some time.
I don't have any idea of what time Kyron would normally be expected at school but you can see, in the chart for 8 am, that he is on the way. The fifth house, at that hour, is ruled by Mars and Pluto with Mars in the third house, showing a car. The Moon, the stepmother's marker, has moved into the ninth, showing her on a highway. The Moon, still disposed of by Neptune, is in the same house with Neptune now, showing her to have the item she retrieved from the hiding place outside. The boy's marker, Mars, is in Leo and is disposed of by the Sun, which is in mommy's twelfth house and the boy's eighth house, showing she is hiding something from him. Something scary, I do beleive. The stepmom's fourth (and twelfth)house ruler, Mercury, is sinister to a square to the boys' marker, Mars in Leo. Also, the eighth house ruler in mommy's chart is Uranus, positioned in Aries in the tenth, and sinister to a square to Pluto and the node in the sixth. I am getting a creepy feeling that she plans (the node) to kill this boy (the death house triad combined with Pluto). But I am going to wait and see if the charts bear it out.
Looking at these charts I can see that they are complicated. When moving on to the 8:30 am chart, I have to ask a nagging question. Does this woman have a boyfriend? Was she cheating on her husband? She has been accused of trying to have her husband killed, which is a serious charge. He is apparently afraid enough to have a restraining order put on her. So does she have another man? The chart for 8:30 am strongly hints at this. Look at the placements. Moon is still in the ninth, showing her to be driving on a highway. It is disposed of by Neptune in the eighth house, a continuing testimony to a secret. She is keeping some secret. The eighth house points at money, sex or death. This may be describing her husband's money (the eighth is the second of the seventh) and a possible life insurance policy or other death benefit (the eighth house also rules death). And then take note that the second house ruler, still Saturn, is now in her third house, showing someone in the car with her. Now, if that is not her husband, who is it? The seventh house implies that this is a "partner" of sorts, most likely a lover or a very close personal friend with Saturn disposed of by Mercury in the eleventh house. Consider also that Mercury points to someone younger while Saturn points at someone she has known a very long time. This combination probably describes someone she knew as a child. I am not saying this could not be a woman; perhaps she has a very close female friend that would look like a lover, or perhaps she has a female lover? Regardless of what the details of their relationship may be, she is with someone, male or female, who is a very close friend; friend enough to be be an accomplice in a crime?? And here's the thing, I beleive they put the boy in the trunk! Mars still rules the fifth and it is placed in the second house, which is the twelfth house of the third and this while Saturn (the seventh house ruler) is in the third and the first house ruler, the Moon, is in the ninth. This shows two people in a car and, for me, the second house is often the trunk of the car, the place where people put their belongings, a place that's dark and hidden and in the rear of the third house. I sincerely believe that this chart is showing the boy in the trunk of the car after an adult friend or lover got into that car with the stepmom.
I don't care what this woman says, the charts do not have the boy in school at 8:30 am. The charts seem to corroborate the testimony of other people in the school that Kryon had not been seen, by anyone, at school that day. The charts show the boys leading marker, Mars, in the second house while Pluto, his secondary marker, is in the sixth. I think he is in grave danger. Also, while noticing that the Moon, the chart co ruler and the ruler of the stepmom, is disposed of by Neptune in Aquarius in the eighth house. I think this shows that they used drugs. Neptune is directly opposed to Mars and I think they forced drugs on the boy. I think he was drugged and put in the trunk. Does this sound familiar to you? Do you think this woman took a page out of the Casey Anthony murder book? This is just a thought. And here's another clue to what this chart is saying: the fourth house is disposed of by Venus which is just behind the Ascendant in the twelfth house. Again, this woman is hiding something. Something in the home or around the home. But I am sure the police have searched around their home? But it is interesting that Venus in Cancer rules the fourth house and is placed in the twelfth on a day when one of her friends was "gardening". Just a thought. And, like I said, I am sure they have or will soon search the grounds around both the the Horman home and the homes of her friends.
Another important marker in this chart is Pluto conjoined the node in the sixth. Pluto is Kyron's secondary marker and being near the node in the sixth shows me that someone had planned to hurt him for awhile. There was a plan to do physical damage to this child. The sixth house is the physical body and with Pluto there, it is describing Kyron's body. In turn, Pluto is disposed of by Saturn, the ruler of the seventh, and the marker for the second person in this chart. I think it was planned for that person to harm or kill Kyron. The node always shows a planned out event. There was a larger purpose behind this scheme and I am not sure from the chart what it is. I would venture a guess based on my intuition but that has gotten me into trouble in the past so I won't do it. Suffice to say that these people were planning to use Kyron for some purpose and it was not a nice one. And another thing that stands out for me is the joint rulership of the tenth and fifth houses. This shows the link, for me, between father and son and possibly describes the father as the reason she has taken the boy. This link also appears in the disposition of Mars by the Sun, the traditional marker for the father, placed in the eleventh house of the stepmom's chart.
I believe the child was drugged at the house, sometime after the father left or while in the car outside just before leaving. I say this because Neptune sits in the boy's fourth house. I think the charts show them killing him at 10:30 am. Notice in this chart that Sagittarius now rules the fifth, Aquarius rules the seventh and the Moon still rules the step mom and that the Moon is together with Uranus and Jupiter in the eighth house. The Moon and Jupiter are close together in the same sign, showing the family connection and bond between the mom and child. Uranus, the outside, sits apart from them in the same house but in Aries. Both the Moon and Jupiter are disposed of by Neptune. Neptune now rules the eighth house, the Moon rules the twelfth house and Pluto, the co ruler of the nadir, is now in the child's first house (the fifth). They definitely kill him around this time, according to the placements. Mercury, the natural ruler of the child, is placed in the tenth and is disposed of by Venus in the twelfth. This appears to be saying that the boy was killed in someone's bedroom (Venus) in a home in a southerly direction from his own home (the tenth house). Venus is dipsosed of by the Moon so it appears to say that the stepmother actually killed him. Jupiter in Pisces with Venus in Cancer seems to say he was drowned; Mercury in Taurus seems to say he was buried. But with Neptune in play from the eighth house, it is also possible that he was drugged. It does not look like he put up a fight, either, with Jupiter, his marker, being void of course. It's as if he doesn't do another thing.
The charts in this case are all convoluted and complicated. In the chart for 10:30 am, the time of death chart, Leo rules the first with the Sun in Gemini in the eleventh. This woman has "teamed up" with her "friend". The Sun is disposed of by Mercury, the natural ruler of the child in question, showing their purpose in this action was the boy. The boy, Mercury in Taurus, disposed of by Venus in the twelfth, shows the boy dead. This combined with Jupiter, the fifth house ruler, in the eighth house, showing the woman's "child" to be dead. This all the while Saturn, the sixth house ruler, which describes the boy's body and the bones of the dead, is in the second house. The fourth house ruler, Mars, is in the first, showing them to be in someone's home and since this is disposed of by the Sun in the eleventh, this happened in her friends home and not someplace else. This home, as described by placements, is in the northeast area of the region. Unfortunately, I cannot narrow it down so it could be the northeast area of the city, the county or the state. Portland is an Aquarian city and Oregon is an Aquarian state and since Aquarius rules the seventh house, all I am seeing is that he died in the friends house. And this house, according to directions, is southeast of the child's home. I see this because her house is described by the tenth house (fourth from the seventh) and is ruled by Taurus. Taurus is southeast in direction and the tenth house is south.
In trying to pinpoint what they did with this child, I see that Jupiter, the fifth house ruler is void of course. That makes it useless to me. However, Mercury, the natural ruler of the child, is in Taurus in the tenth. Just this position alone points to a burial of the body. And this is just because Taurus is an earth sign and not a water sign or fire sign. It is disposed of by Venus in the twelfth in the sign Cancer. So he was buried near water. It is a body of water very familiar to the stepmom as Venus is disposed of by the Moon, her marker. She knows this place well and has been there before. So Venus in the twelfth house in Cancer is the exact marker for where this child is. Saturn, which is disposed of by Mercury in the tenth, shows the time element involved in the decomposition of the actual body. Saturn in the second shows the body to be in a wooded area near small animals (the second house, the sign Taurus, Venus) and a lovely body of water that is very scenic in nature. Saturn in the second in Virgo is direct so I do not believe this child will be left undiscovered. In fact, Mercury contacts Saturn by trine within 6 months of his disappearance. I get this by measuring the distance from Mercury to Saturn (6 degrees) and noting that Mercury is fixed on an angular house (months) and Saturn is mutable on a succeedent house (also months) in terms of time translation using traditional astrology.
I next look at the chart for 11 am to see what happens after the death of the child. This usually shows the killer doing something with the body. Here we have Mercury in Taurus in the tenth, Saturn in Virgo in the second and Pluto in Capricorn in the fifth house so I think it's safe to say the child was buried. Pluto is retrograde in the fifth in Capricorn (the grave) so the burial was really difficult and the job was poorly done. The north node nearby, also in Capricorn, shows that the grave was chosen in advance. It was not left to the last minute. The killer knew right where the child would be buried, this is why it also shows the area being familiar. Although I call this person the "killer", the fact that the Moon rules the mother and it plays such a huge part in the chart movements throughout the hours in question, the finger points. I also believe that the child was buried close to the home of the friend or accomplice. This is because, even after death, the charts show the fifth house ruler, Jupiter, in the eighth (consistant with death) close to Uranus, the seventh house ruler. This is clearly the friend and not a family member because the planets are not in the same sign. They are in an out of sign conjunction, which tells us that they knew each other, but they were not related.
If there is a scenic body of water not far from where this accomplice lived then this is where they will discover the child. It is very possible that this body of water is a reservoir. He is buried somewhere in a small, localized wooded area close to that body of water. The body is not well buried, the job was difficult and emotionally draining so it was done hurridly, without care. There may have been an attempt to dismember the body or otherwise make it easier to carry and dispose of (Pluto in Capricorn in the fifth house square to Uranus in the eighth). This was attempted by the accomplice and not the killer. The body is placed in an area where people use wells or cisterns and the houses have cellars. If it is not a reservoir, it may also be a spring, a lake or a local river. However, this is Oregon and if someone who is suspected lives near the sea, then the ocean is also a possibility. A scenic area off the coast is a possible location if the local area where the child went missing is near the ocean. Portland is a huge city and it does have a large river, the Williamette River, that runs through it. I know there are lots of mountains in the area but the chart does not describe mountains, hills or locations in high areas. It describes something close to the ground near water.
Consistant with the chart, the Willimette River runs through SE Portland. It is mostly a huge city with lots of asphalt but I am sure there are parks with planted areas or small wooded areas in the general area. Those that are close to the river, with a scenic backdrop, should be considered. Because Clackamas County is in the southeast portion of Portland and it contains the Williamette National Forest which is situated on the river, I think this might be a good place to look. But it would depend upon whether Kyron's stepmom had spent any time in that forest and whether or not this forest is located within the area of the friend's home. The bottom line with this chart is that the boy was buried not far from the friend's home in a scenic wooded area near to a water source like a river or lake, more probably a reservoir or spring.
I know that the descriptions are rather general and the areas I talk about are rather vast but this is the best I can do with reading these types of charts. I also realize it is simply common sense to conclude that the killer buried the body nearby just simply because a burial is very hard work, involves a lot of planning and travelling far away just makes it all that more difficult. The charts here clearly show the boy laying in rest somewhere near the second party in the chart (the seventh house ruler) which is also a close friend or lover of the killer, who is marked by the Moon and the first house ruler. The Moon starts out as a descriptor for the stepmom and it remains in that position during the hours that follow. There is no indication that she handed this boy over to anyone else and no indication that he ever made it to school.
Ann's case drew statewide media attention, but the spotlight widened after a second girl went missing four days later near Salem.
Stephanie Newsom, 11, vanished after she left her West Salem home late in the afternoon of April 19.
Authorities immediately suspected the two were linked, but were reluctant to say so officially. Some similarities, however, were obvious: Stephanie and Ann were close in age and appearance. Both were last seen alone, walking in daylight.
Other similarities were eerily coincidental: Stephanie's middle name was Ann. Ann delivered newspapers; Stephanie disappeared while delivering newspapers on her brother's paper route. The dog that tracked Ann's last known steps was brought to West Salem to search for Stephanie.
The morning of April 27, a farmer found a girl's body in a field bordering Ankeny Wildlife Refuge that was the remains of Stephanie Newsom.
She had been strangled and sexually assaulted. Her semi-nude body was not far from a road, but it had been concealed beneath a small tree. Investigators determined the body had been there for several days.
Accompanying the discovery of the body was the news that a 7-year-old girl had been abducted from her Gresham school. The girl had been raped, beaten and left for dead but survived.

This young girl disappeared around the same time as Ann Ellinwood. Many people thought the cases might be linked and at that time, they were looking for a single perpetrator. Ann's body was never found but Stephanies body was found, semi nude and sexually assaulted. Could this be a serial killer? I will try to compare my findings in this case with the findings in the Ann Ellinwood case and see if there are any matches. The first thing I should mention is that there are similarities in both cases. The girls disappeared only 4 days apart which means that most of the planets are in the same signs and making the same aspects. Ann was reported missing at around 5 pm after last being seen around 1 pm. This child, Stephanie Newsom, disappeared in "the late afternoon" by all accounts, which means this window of time applies in her case as well. They both disappear from the same area within a few days and about the same time of day. The charts are going to be similar simply because of this fact.
However, I must also grant this much more. Abductors are strongly motivated to do their dirty work or they wouldn't bother. Abduction takes planning, taking risks, being willing to get caught if a mistake is made, all for the chance to snatch someone and do something ugly to them. So the abductor is highly motivated. As astrologers we must assume that some of this motivation comes from aspects and transits if we are to consider the stars a player in these events. In that regard, it is logical to assume that these events would occur around the same time and place as the aspects at that location at that time would be favorable. In this case, it builds an argument for the same perpetrator in both cases because we would then assume that the same aspects that motivated this one person in the first place are likely to motivate him again and not perhaps motivate anyone else. But this is just conjecture and this blog is just the lab where we are running the tests to find the results. Sort of a clinical trial, I guess. There is always another argument, also logical and possible, that many perpetrators are motivated at the same time by the same aspects. It's just too hard to tell from here. It will take a full analysis of the perpetrator in each individual case to see if there are similarities.
But there are many factors present in Anns chart that are also present in Stephanies, simply because of time and location. In that regard, it is very likely that the same man is responsible for both crimes even though the charts show the outcome to be very different. I think perpetrators escalate in their crimes, especially if they are so motivated that they committ them within days of one another. They get worked up into a frenzy I suppose. In these cases there was yet a third child taken not but days of Stephanie's abduction and her body was also found. That child was 7 years old. I have no more facts in that case at this time so I am not profiling it. But I am going to look at Stephanies chart and analyze it and in the process point out similarities in Ann's and then let you, my readers, decide which is what.
The first chart I am analyzing is the chart for 4 pm, an average possible time as per the description "in the late afternoon". I think this might mean any time between 3 and 6 pm as 7 pm might more properly be described as "early evening". I am not sure, however, so this window is, unfortunately, flexible. I don't usually do charts for flexible time windows but having found these charts to be both similar and consistant I'm going to dare it. Looking first at this chart for 4 pm some interesting aspects stand right out. Mercury is rising, the natural indicator of children in general and this is a young child after all. Mercury is in the seventh house, showing she has come upon someone. The seventh house ruler is Neptune, right on the axis of the third and fourth houses showing that this someone is standing outside of their home. Neptune is disposed of by Jupiter in the tenth, showing this person to be a "patriarchial" and "fatherly" figure, in other words, an older man.
Jupiter is in Cancer so he may live with his mother or have ties to his mothers family. Jupiter in Cancer often describes body weight and a love of food so he may well be, at the least, overweight and it is possible he is obese. Jupiter in Cancer is also a caretaker personality so he may be his mother's caretaker, cooking for her, tending the garden, doing the chores. Jupiter is in the tenth sector, where it indicates his line of work. There are many things that Jupiter describes, such as travel, education, law and government. He could well have a government job. Jupiter also describes those things that bring joy in life and Jupiter in Cancer indicates love of family, especially for the mother. This man loves to eat, loves his home and his mother, loves his country, in fact, and may be known for his patriotism.
Neptune as his significator indicates he has secrets. He may have addictions that no one knows about. In general, this can indicate drugs and alcohol but can also indicate perversities and dark desires that one is ashamed of. The interesting correlation here with Ann's chart is that this man is also a hunter. He is an outdoorsmen of sorts, either riding horses or camping, for instance, and may also like to hunt animals. Sagittarius indicates the bow and arrow but guns are not ruled out here. Also, another similarity, is the likelihood that this man was waiting outside of his home in much the same manner as Ann's abductor. And this was a home in the neighborhood, just as the home was in the neighborhood near where Ann was walking that day. This home, in Stephanies' case, was right on the paper route. Consider that Mercury in Aries is disposed of by Mars in the eleventh which shows that Stephanie was doing someone a favor that day. We know she was doing her brother's paper route for him as a favor. Neptune being in the third also emphasizes her brother and his paper route (3rd house- siblings and 3rd house- newspapers). This shows that this man was on her brothers' paper delivery route and perhaps he was waiting outside for the paper at the time.
If this is the same man, he is quite the opportunist. Spotting Ann limping along and then taking advantage was a long shot of unique opportunity. For a pedophile to just be there, at that time, under those circumstances, is kismet. Could lightening strike twice? Here he is, AGAIN? Waiting for the boy to bring the paper and just getting lucky again with a girl he didn't expect? Is this possible? If so, then it is likely that he invited her in for lemonade or some other ruse. And only those who know Stephanie would know if she would take a stranger up on such an offer and if not, then the consideration must be given to this being someone she knew. In Ann's case chart, the man appeared to be a teacher or someone from a school. He appeared to have a prediliction for children and a hatred for them at the same time. Here, in Stephanies' case, no such stressor exists. Neptune in Sagittarius, the marker, is involved in a grand trine with Saturn in Leo and Mercury in Aries. But consider this. The Moon, the chart co ruler, was in the twelfth at this hour, showing that no one saw what happened in this case, the event occurred in a private place not visible to anyone else. This indicates, to me, that she entered the house first. The Moon was in Virgo, indicating again a proclivity towards children (disposed of by Mercury, which rules the child) and lends an "old maid" quality to the individual; it is likely this man was never married and had no children of his own. This dovetails to a great extent with the descriptors in Ann's case.
Other factors are at play. Pluto is in Libra in the first house, retrograde. This was a violent act, very personal in nature, that went on for quite some time. The node is also in the first, disposed of by Venus in Taurus, showing a strong desire that fueled the action. This node tends to indicate a planned event and not one of circumstance. This man was waiting for the child who was to deliver the paper and it is not known by this chart whether he planned on Stephanie to be his victim or if he had been looking for her brother. Mercury is trine Neptune which creates energy between the victim and her attacker. They are both trine Saturn so the timing was right; destiny was at play. Mercury is approaching Saturn and is within 7 degrees of it from an angular house, meaning the body (her bones) would be found within a 7 day period after her death. Since she was found 8 days later, we can assume she was not killed until the next day, or on April 20. This means she was held for a while. I do beleive, because of Pluto retrograde in the first and co ruling the third house, the assault went on for awhile and it occurred right there, in that neighborhood. Right on the paper route.
At this point, looking at both charts and what they appear to say, I am going to venture a guess. The same person committed both of these crimes. Ann Ellinwood was his first victim. He took her to rape her and kill her but didn't accomplish everything he wanted to. He made mistakes and killed her quickly and then had to dispose of her quickly, most likely by burning as I thought in the first analysis. Both charts show a tendency to burning or committing things to fire. He went after Stephanie intentionally, several days later, because he had been unable to do all that he wanted in Anns case and was frustrated. Ann had been a crime of opportunity but now he is planniong things. He may well have thought to take the boy. He may not be particular about boys or girls but prefers girls. I am not a profiler or even a forensic anything except an astrologer but I watch enough crime TV to have a basic knowledge of this. A knowledge that I am sure you all share. So Stephanie was his chance to act out the real crime he wanted to commit. He planned it out and was more careful, he kept her alive long enough to "enjoy" her and then he discarded her to be found so he could enjoy the public outrage.
I do not believe that she actually nabbed until around 5 pm. The chart for 5 pm has Libra rising with Venus in the eighth, showing sexual contact of some sort. Venus is in Taurus and is in dignity so she is not killed right away, the attraction is too strong. The seventh house ruler, Mars in Leo, is placed in the tenth house, showing them to be in his home, where he is in total control of her. Mars is disposed of by the Sun, which is in the seventh, lingering close to Mercury. He has a strong fetish for children and fancies her his partner. Although he realizes they are not close or familiar, he plays the role with her as his girlfriend or, at the least, a willing partner. Mercury opposes Pluto so all of his sexual energy is pointed towards children; he is a pedophile. Venus in Taurus in the eighth opposing Uranus in Scorpio in the second presages rape. He attacks her and rapes her, even against her will, all the while seeing her as "property". The Taurus-Scorpio axis creates desire of such great force that it cannot be controlled. This is a pattern with him and he could well be a serial offender. In fact, it's likely that he was picked up for molesting a child at some time in his life and may very well have gone to jail for other crimes after committing this one.
Mars in Leo is extremely forceful and Leo is the common ruler of children in the natural horoscope so I often see it in charts involving the rape and seduction of kids. Moon in the twelfth trine Venus in the eighth shows ongoing sexual activity that is hidden and out of view. He holds her overnight for this purpose. Without a body or a TOD I cannot do a chart for her actual death. She was found dead, though, so we know that he did kill her. That is all anyone needs to know. But now that he know he is likely the serial abductor responsible for both of these kidnappings and for Stephanies' murder, then who the heck is he? Can we find him? Like I said, it is likely he has done this again and again and has likely been caught and jailed for something. He may well be in jail already for another crime. The first place to look is at school personnel during that period and checking to see if anyone at all ended up in jail later on. That would be the first person to talk to. Without that much, then focus should be extended to men who lived in those neighborhoods at that time and lived either alone or with their mother. These men, once narrowed down, should be considered for employment ruled by Jupiter. Those should be narrowed down and then consideration given to his marker, Neptune in Sagittarius. This gives an armchair athlete and a huge fan of competitive sports. In particular, he would be a fan of tennis, marathon running, horse racing, rodeo, bronco busting, greyhound races, archery, pool, knife throwing, downhill racing, skiing and track. He would love the olympics, in particular. It is unlikely that he is an athlete himself and he is probably grossly unhealthy, very overweight, indulgent and lazy. He may abuse drugs or alcohol. He may get drunk before he grabs these children. Neptune in Sagittarius points to drugs that burn so consider crack cocaine or marijuana. The man also loves to eat so he may be known locally for his cooking as he loves to share the spoils.
The girl in the photo has a freckled face, a smile to match her outgoing nature and her mother's eyes. Her chin-length hair looks brown in the black-and-white image, but it was auburn in real life.
Ann Ellinwood was a popular student and beloved daughter. On April 15, 1978, the 12-year-old joined some friends for the annual March of Dimes walk-a-thon in and around Corvallis.
The course took walkers along a bike path by the Marys River. At about 1 p.m., Ann, complaining that her foot hurt, told her two friends to go on without her; she would head to a checkpoint at Gill Coliseum. She was last seen on the path near the Pioneer Park ball field, just across Highway 34 from the coliseum.
At 5:15 p.m., Ann's parents reported her missing after she failed to return home. She delivered The Gazette-Times (then an evening newspaper) in the afternoon. She never neglected her job. Something was very wrong.
Searchers immediately scoured the area where Ann last was seen; they found nothing.
In the days that followed, an intensive water, land and air search was launched. Dive teams searched the Marys River. Law enforcement agencies and Benton County Search and Rescue members walked the area with tracking dogs. Pilots scanned from the air. Nothing.
"She's just gone," said then-assistant Corvallis police chief Kenneth Burright.
Less than a week after Ann disappeared, Corvallis police began searching for the driver of a red pickup pulling a tear-drop-shaped trailer. It was seen April 15, near where Ann disappeared. Soon, authorities in Salem and Corvallis released information on suspects: In Salem, a boy said he saw a stocky white man in his late 20s with shaggy, light brown hair. The Corvallis suspect was described as a white man with a medium- to stocky build, reddish brown or sandy hair, with a gruff voice and possibly a mustache.
Unconfirmed reports circulated that the man in Corvallis was overheard telling children that he was a police officer.
The Benton County District Attorney, Pete Sandrock, was tight-lipped about the case at the time. But looking back more than 30 years later, he revealed that investigators talked to witnesses who reported hearing a man claim to be either the police chief or a police officer.
A week after Ann's disappearance, search efforts expanded to include western Linn County. More than 700 volunteers turned out on a rainy Saturday to look along country roads and paths. They found nothing.
The Ellinwoods had held a private memorial service for Ann on July 2. On July 31, 1978, authorities announced they had officially ended the search for Ann.
"There simply isn't any place left to look," Sandrock said at the time.
It's now a "cold" case, considered inactive, but open.
I was emailed this case by one of my readers. I realize it is another very cold case but I just couldn't resist taking a look. The information above was emailed to me along with the general case information. When I checked on the internet I could find NOTHING about this case so I am dependant upon my readers for the details. According to them, this information is correct.
This is a beautiful, concise chart. I am going to show you how Astrology often just shouts out the truth. The first chart, as shown, is for the time she was last seen, 1 pm. Notice that Leo is rising and the Sun, which represents Ann, is in the ninth house. This means she is outdoors doing something. We know she was in a walk a thon and was walking outdoors by a river. Notice Mercury right near the Sun. This shows the other kids who were walking with her. And then notice how the Sun is disposed of by Mars in Leo in the twelfth house. At 1 pm, the time of this chart, Ann was complaining that her foot hurt! The twelfth house rules the feet and there is Mars, hovering near the Moon. The Moon in this configuration would indicate that the injury wouldn't be overtly obvious and may have been settled in deep like a thorn or other sharp object (Mars and the Moon). It would also be very painful.
Anyways, the person she came upon after this departure would be represented by the seventh house. This is Aquarius with Uranus in the fourth. This is a person in the neighborhood, in fact, someone who had a home nearby or along the walk a thon route. Uranus is in Scorpio and, interestingly, is disposed of by Mars in Leo in the twelfth house. This implies a connection between Ann's foot problem and this person coming along later. It is possible that he or she saw Ann limping and offered her some help, perhaps a ride or a moment's rest on a chair. Uranus disposed of by Mars in the twelfth also implies that this person was behaving secretly on this day and may even have had ulterior motives from the start.
The Moon co rules Ann in this chart and it is also placed in the twelfth in the last few degrees of Cancer. This is the Moon in her baliwick, she is powerful in Cancer but her position is void of course (meaning she makes no aspect to another planet before leaving the sign Cancer) which strips her of a great deal of that power. The first aspect the Moon makes is on leaving the sign Cancer and entering Leo. It is a conjunction to Mars in Leo, which disposes the rulers of both Ann's and her abductors rulers. I know this seems a little like ring around the rosy but the interactions between these planets are important. In this configuration you are seeing the combining of both rulers through their dispositors. This means, to me, that these two people ended up together by mutual assent. I am of a mind to believe that perhaps Ann went up and knocked on the door of this house, looking for something to lean on. She was perhaps having way too much trouble with her foot to make it back to the checkpoint. Uranus indicates that this was a crime of opportunity. The chart conspires to show that her foot injury provided that opportunity.
One more factor I have to point out is the secondary disposition of Mars by Pluto in the third. Pluto opposes Mercury in the ninth. This person is somehow connected to schools or the school system. He or she dislikes children but keeps this a secret. Notice how Uranus opposes Venus, which is right at the midheaven. He or she may be a teacher. And he or she dislikes little girls the most.
At just around 2 pm, Virgo moves onto the Ascendant. At that same hour, Mercury moves into the eighth house. Saturn has crossed the Ascendant and moved into the twelfth house. Mercury is exactly trine Neptune in the fourth house and part of a larger grand trine including the twelfth house Saturn. This is a death pattern. Neptune now rules the seventh cusp. Uranus is inconjunct to Mercury in the eighth, Uranus opposes Venus which now rules the tenth and Pluto is inconjunct to Venus as well. This child was killed inside this persons house by accident. There was a physical situation which I am not sure about, whether the child was outright attacked, manhandled or reprimanded, but whatever it was it went too far. I do not see sexual implications. The chart does not show her being molested or raped. Mercury, the first house ruler, is trine Neptune, the seventh house ruler, in fire signs. She may have been drugged but I think it looks like she was suffocated or strangled. For sure, damage was done to the head. In all of the charts for this instance Mercury is under the Sun's beams showing clearly that Ann came into harms way and was in grave danger from the start.
Some things stand out for me. Neptune is in Sagittarius so this person was a hunter or a sportsman. He or she may have sporting type items in the home. Whether is it actual participation, shown by trophies, animal skins, fishing or archery gear or the like or whether is armchair participation and the house is full of baseball cards or football jerseys it is just hard to say. There is a chance he or she was a runner or walker. He or she may have had an interest in the walk a thon because of their own involvement in walking or running. Hiking mountains comes to mind. Competitive hunting is another possibility. Entering hunting or fishing contests is yet another. But again, I have to assert that this chart is showing a person involved in the school system, either as a teacher, professor, a member of the school board or the school janitor, et al.. He or she has a job in a school with children. So this is the profile thus far, somebody who works in a school in any capacity who also loves sports and sporting activities.
I beleive, looking at these charts, is the reason they never found Ann is because her body was burned. I am not only saying this because of the grand trine in fire signs but also because both Mercury and the Sun are in Aries in the eighth and disposed of by Mars in Leo. Mars and the Sun are in mutual reception, to boot. Because Saturn is in the twelfth I tend to think that after the body was burned the remains were buried. And I would guess it was buried in a place just outside the back door of this house. And remember, this house is in the same neighborhood as the area where the walk a thon occurred and this person who did this lived in this house.
Another small crumb of information I can garner here is that this person is unusual looking. No doubt dark haired and perhaps even dark skinned (for their race). Uranus in Scorpio in the third makes me think he or she has a "unibrow". That is where the eyebrows run together over the nose. Uranus also opposes Venus so this person would not be considered good looking, he or she would not be "easy on the eyes". There would be a hardness to the features that people find unpleasant. Neptune as the secondary ruler in Sagittarius describes someone thin and even frail looking, although also athletic. I do not get a clear definition of sex; this person could be male or female. At the time, they lived alone and no one else was involved or has information regarding what happened. And here is the thing. Saturn is retrograde in the twelfth so the body will never be found.
Along with this case I was sent the details of a second case that occurred within a short while after Ann disappeared. Many people believed that the two cases were related but some of the police did not. This is the case of Stephanie Newsom. This girls body was found, contrary to the mystery surrounding Ann Ellenwood, so there is a little more data on that one to examine. I am going to post it next. I am going to compare the two cases and see if, in fact, the charts corroborate a tie between the two or if two different people did these awful things.
