Tamra Jewel Keepness

Child Goes Missing From House Full of Adults

From: CBC News

Missing in Regina
CBC News Online | April 27, 2006

Tamra Jewel Keepness was last seen Monday night, July 5, 2004. Regina police and volunteers combed the city and surrounding area, but ended their search a week after she was last seen. Police then refocused their investigation on Tamra's family. Aboriginal leaders vowed to continue their own search for Tamra.

April 26, 2006:
Regina Police Chief Cal Johnston says the department is scaling back its investigation into the disappearance of Tamra Keepness. Johnston says investigators still don't have enough information to lay any charges.

July 5, 2005:
Regina residents walk through Tamra's neighborhood to mark the anniversary of her disappearance. In the past year, police have followed up on over 1,500 tips and interviewed more than 500 people. Hundreds of police and volunteer searchers have combed the city and surrounding area, but they have come up empty. Tamra’s mother, Lorena Keepness, believes her daughter was abducted and is still alive.

Sept. 9, 2004:
Walter William Obey, a 31-year-old man from the Muscowpetung reserve, is charged with stealing a van 10 blocks away from Tamra Keepness's home the night she vanished. Police say they are investigating whether the theft is connected to Tamra's disappearance.

Aug. 20, 2004:
In an interview with CBC News, Tamra's stepfather Dean McArthur says he fears for his safety because police and people in Regina believe he played a role in her disappearance. "That's what I'm scared of – people thinking that I'm guilty," he says. McArthur says he didn't enter the house when he visited, but instead he staggered, extremely drunk, to his aunt's house to sleep on her couch.

Sept. 7, 2004:
New information prompts about 30 police and civilian volunteers to search the Muscowpetung First Nation, 65 kilometers northeast of Regina. The area was searched before after the burned-out remains of a van were found there.

Aug. 11, 2004:
Tamra's biological father, Troy Keepness, is charged with assault with a weapon for allegedly hitting her stepfather, Dean McArthur, with a baseball bat. McArthur says he wasn't hit and didn't ask for charges to be laid. "It's another misunderstanding," he says.

Aug. 10, 2004:
Russell Sheepskin, who was staying in Tamra's home the night she disappeared, says he saw her sleeping on the couch at 3 a.m., four hours after her mother last reported seeing her. He says he was drinking with Tamra's stepfather, Dean McArthur, that evening, blacked out and woke up in his basement bedroom around 3 a.m. He says there were no other adults in the house and he checked on the six children, including Tamra. Sheepskin alleges McArthur later came home and attacked him on the porch. McArthur has been charged with assault, but the allegation has not been proven in court.

This case has been sent to me several times by my Canadian friends. I wanted badly to do it but there are so many red herrings and lies told in this one, it is hard to pin down a viable timeline. In all reports, every adult in this event was drunk and all of them were involved in altercations or claimed to be during the time in question. I cannot tell the facts from the fantasy to be honest so it's been hard to even get my mind wrapped around this case. I tried every time given and ran charts for all of them. In the first chart I tackled, for the time when the mother claims to have last seen Tamra, there are markers that peak my interest. After I ran them all from that point onward, I believe they began to make sense. I will show you what I mean.

I had a conflict on how to read these charts, considering the child was mostly left on her own and was old enough to look out for herself. I like to use Mercury in all cases and, of course, the Moon. It is hard to determine whether the first house ruler, Uranus, actually describes the adult, which is the mother in this case, or the child. But since Uranus is conjoined the Moon in this chart, I decided to use the both of them as secondary markers. Mercury, as you can see, is in the sixth house with Mars and Mercury also rules the fifth house, which is the traditional house that rules children. Mars rules the second and the ninth house both so I am thinking this is describing Tamra's brother. I believe this is telling us that she is with her brother at this time, when her mother last saw her. But the real markers here are in the first house. The Moon with Uranus shows us that the girl is, indeed, in the company of her mother. This conjunction assures me that the mother is telling the truth about seeing Tamra at 10:30 PM. But notice as well how close Neptune is to the first house cusp. Doesn't this seem to tell us that something was either hidden from the mother or that she just overlooked something important, perhaps because she had been drinking or taking medication? Neptune directly opposes the Mercury-Mars conjunction that indicates Tamra and her brother. This makes me think the kids deliberately hid something from their mother that she would have wanted to know.

The other important markers in this chart are the seventh house ruler, the Sun, in the fifth house and Pluto in the tenth. There is someone in the home with this family who is interested in the children. At the time her mother last saw her, there was someone in Tamra's room or in an area where the kids were gathering. Because the Sun is in Cancer and conjoined Saturn in Cancer while being disposed of by the Moon, this was family to Tamra but not necessarily to anyone else. This is an older person, someone older than the rest of the people there, and someone connected only to Tamra and not the other kids. Did the kids have different fathers and therefore also different grandparents? Is there an older member of the family that is mostly concerned only with Tamra? Was this person visiting that night and could this person have been in the girls room... or wherever it is that Tamra had decided to sleep? I understand, from reports, that the kids were sleeping in the living room together. So which adult was also sleeping there or would have come for her there? I believe Neptune in the first is the secret that Tamra kept from her mom about the older relative who was perhaps hiding in her room.

Discuss This Case At My Forum

At the same time, I have to point out Pluto in the tenth. Someone was going through a big change in their life and possibly having to move from their home. There was an upset in the family, somebody had been evicted or forced to move out of a residence, perhaps because there was work going on there, or other troubles. Pluto in Sagittarius makes me think the home may have burned down or had trouble with the heating or a fireplace. This very well may have been the older relative who had come to the home to visit or stay.

By this time, you can see that everyone has gone to bed. The Moon and the first house ruler are in the twelfth house, the house of dreams, darkness and sleep. Notice also that Mercury, the traditional ruler of children, is in the fifth house (the bedroom) while ruling the fourth house (the home) in the sign Gemini. Gemini is also a traditional marker for children. But on the fourth house cusp it refers to more than one home, to a home with many rooms, a home that can be moved or relocated. I believe it is telling us that people are sleeping in many different places, some in bedrooms and some in the main part of the house. This dovetails with the reports that the kids were sleeping in the living room but that the stepfather was sleeping in the basement bedroom. This describes it very well. But I also believe that Mercury, which now rules the seventh house and is placed in the fifth, is showing us the people who were sleeping in a bedroom and not the living room. So the stepfather and his friend, who were known to be sleeping in the bedroom in the basement (Cancer rules cellars and basements) is marked by Mercury on the seventh cusp. I say this because Jupiter is conjoined the seventh cusp and also rules the tenth, which describes the father. So this chart, at 11:30 pm, is describing the stepfather and his friend in the house with the children. From this chart, we know that Tamra is still in the house, she is still safe, alive and probably asleep.

But the story given for 3 am is highly questionable, at least, according to these charts. The chart for 2:20 am, as shown below, shows the child just before she is taken from the home. In the chart for 2:30, merely ten minutes later, the chart shows the child in a car. Notice in the chart shown that the Sun and Saturn are conjoined in the third house in the sign Cancer. Saturn rules the ninth house while the Sun rules the fourth. Jupiter, which rules the seventh, is in the fifth house. There is someone clearly in the child's bedroom at this hour. There is also a car outside the home, possibly in the garage or other parking area. I say this because the ninth house ruler is in the third (the ninth house is the third from the seventh and designates the abductors car). The abductor, as shown by Jupiter ruling the seventh, is in the fifth house, so this person is in the area where the children are, whether that is the actual bedroom or a place that is used as a bedroom. At the same time, the fourth house ruler, the Sun, is in the third, showing a car in a location attached to the house, such as a garage or driveway. Notice also that both Saturn and the Sun are disposed of by the Moon, which co rules the chart and represents the child in question. The Moon, as well, is with Uranus in the eleventh so this was a sudden decision by someone who the child has met before. The eleventh house is not only friends but acquaintances and short term romances, so this is someone she knew, even if only slightly, rather than a complete stranger. In fact, Uranus rules the tenth house, which is often the marker for the father or for another patriarchal figure. So this may well be someone she considers to be her father or like a father to her. But the intentions here are not that good as you can see Pluto lingering in the seventh house opposing Venus in the first.

In the chart for 2:30 am chart you can see Mercury has moved into the third with the Sun and Saturn. This shows us the child being put into a car. The charts do not show any change until the chart for 3:30 am, where they show the child in the home of someone else. This does not mean they spent an hour traveling in that car but it does indicate that they spent some time in the car, whether moving or not. In fact, Mercury and Mars (the marker for the child and a male companion) are in the fixed sign Leo and the third house is a cadent house. This shows us that they did not travel far and they did not move quickly; they took their time, perhaps spending time sitting in the car without moving, before they finally entered another residence. They may have had to wait for others to arrive or for people to get out of bed. But when Mercury finally leaves the third house for the second, in the chart for 3:30 am, notice that Uranus and the Moon are in the tenth house (the fourth house from the seventh). The seventh house ruler, the marker for her abductor, is Saturn and it is in the first. So the man who took her now has control over her, is facing her down. Saturn is conjoined the Sun in the sign Cancer, which rules the second cusp. This man feels the girl belongs to him. He feels he is entitled to her for some reason. Saturn in Cancer describes an elderly person who is somehow connected to her family.

And then in the chart for 4 am, you see that the fifth house ruler is Venus and it is placed in the twelfth. The first house ruler, the Moon, is now in the tenth. Combining these two markers, we can guess that the child is hidden in the home of the abductor. There are no sexual indicators or death patterns. The purpose was not to kill this child or to molest her. This person felt entitled to the child and was sure he or she was doing the right thing by taking her. The north node in Taurus in the eleventh house and disposed of by Venus in the first and as the ruler of the fifth, this person knows the child and feels the child belongs with them and planned to take her over a long period of time. This was all carefully thought out. So it is my firm belief that this child was taken by someone who cared for her and believed this was for the best. It is an elderly person close to the family, either by relation or as a friend. Tamra knew this person when she was taken and is still probably living with this person. She has been hidden in their home and perhaps moved around over time, I can't be sure. But this chart shows no intentions to harm the child, to molest her, to sell her or murder her. She is most likely still alive.

The person who took the child got into the child's bedroom at 2 in the morning. The child was removed from the home within a half an hour. The account given by the person who reported being drunk and seeing Tamra at 3 am is either just a mistake or a purposeful lie.

The person who took her is described by Jupiter in Virgo and Saturn in Cancer. I have discussed the influence of Saturn already. Jupiter in Virgo, according to traditional readings, is a person of medium height for their sex with a full sized, well made body. This means it may border on being overweight but is just not a thin, wirey or scrawny body. This person would be strong looking and "well put together". It also gives a handsome or pretty appearance, attractive to the eye. There might be dark wavy hair; short on a man and full and lustrous on a woman. This person is frank and honest, telling it "like it is" and often steps on toes. They have open, expressive and challenging eyes that are often reddish brown in color. Perhaps also a large, fleshy nose and a ruddy or florid complexion. There may also be good teeth that give a good smile.

This type of person is materialistic and concerned about money. Careful at counting the pennies. Also fairly wise and knowledgeable, honest and forthright. This person is not the type to be shy or to hide things. If they were to be confronted directly about Tamra they would most likely admit what they'd done. This person has a love for literature, reads books and often talks about writing one. There is a tendency to be critical and a busy body, getting into everyone's business and giving everyone a "piece of the mind". But they are not overly argumentative; they just don't acknowledge opposition. They may be seen as a sort of "bulldozer" personality, always being positive they are right.

The combination of Jupiter in Virgo and Saturn in Cancer makes me think this is an elderly member of the family, whether close relation, distant relation or just a friend who is considered a part of the nuclear group. This is a matronly or patriarchal figure, acting like mom or pop. They are familiar with the history of the family and the internal workings between family members. They may well have known older members of the family who are now deceased or gone. This person may also be a sort of "glue" that holds everyone together, campaigning for holiday affairs and get together and wanting to celebrate birthdays and other family traditions. They may have a collection of photographs of the family, mostly as children. There is a lot of sentimentality in the character of this person and it bleeds over into their interactions with everyone. This person firmly believes he or she did the best thing in taking the girl and keeping her.

*************

This is about all there is online about this case. It was horribly overlooked like so many others in the 1970s. I am currently working on a local case from the same era and in that case there was little done to find the child, either. This boy was much younger than the one I am working on so they could not say he ran away. A search was done. But nothing more. I apologize to my Canadian friends who sent me this case. It got lost when my computer crashed and after I got a new computer and upgraded my OS, it was not in the same format. Since then I have converted tons of files and it came to my attention. I guess this is par for the course for this poor little boy. Nothing seems to have fallen his way.

Right away I found these charts to be informative and interesting. Mercury is rising in the chart for the time when the boy went missing. Mercury is the traditional ruler of children. Notice how Mercury is in the ninth house and it was said he was in the front yard of his home. The ninth house is often the outside area around the home as well as any wooded areas or open fields nearby. Mercury is in dignity in Gemini which tells us that the child was in a safe place at that time, in his "own place" so to speak. But take a look at the seventh house. Here is the person he is about to meet. Neptune is lingering at the nadir, just inside the third house. This is someone in or around the front entrance area to the home, on the sidewalk or road connected to the home or in the driveway or garage (third house). Notice also that Neptune is conjoined to the node, showing intent. This person had schemed to be here at this time. It was a part of a plan. This person was there on purpose and not just happening to be there, such as walking or driving by. Sagittarius often describes someone with a weapon and/or ammunition. Also someone who lives or works on army bases. This person might also work on fireplaces, such as building them or maintaining them. Any of these descriptors might fit.

Neptune infers someone in hiding or trying not to be seen. Neptune is disposed of by Jupiter, which is in the eighth house conjoined the Moon. Again, Jupiter in Aries describes someone who likes physical activity and challenges, is attracted to weapons and martial arts and could well be in the military. With Sagittarius, this can mean someone from overseas or had served in the military overseas. Jupiter as his motivational marker conjoined the Moon, which co rules the child, tells us that he had direct intentions for this particular child. Moon, which is the child's co ruler, is disposed of by Mars, which is right at the descendant. This person was very aggressive towards this child and acted out in a violent manner. I doubt very much, at this early point in the analysis, that Cameron is still alive.

Neptune being disposed of by the fourth house ruler tells us that this person was familiar with the March home and may have lived or worked in that neighborhood. Jupiter in Aries in the eighth reminds me of a thief or an outlaw of some type, with dangerous ideas. A serious indicating marker in this chart concerns Mercury being sinister to an opposition with Neptune and the Moon translating the light between the two. The opposition happens along the fourth / tenth house axis. We know the child was taken from his home. The Moon translating light allows for the activity to occur and tells us that the boy either went right to this person or was taken without resistance. But the biggest factor, I believe, in the way this chart is working, is that Pluto is rising in the first. Pluto rules the third house so I am thinking this child was forced into a car. The Moon is directly opposite to Pluto so force had to be used to keep the child from crying out. The Moon being disposed of by Mars and Mars being disposed of by Neptune makes me think that the child was killed violently but killed right away, in a violent assault. Mars being the eighth house ruler, I think the abductor may have wanted the child dead. As well, Pluto trine Mercury tells us the child was better of dead, this was a more merciful outcome than if he had been kept.

Discuss This Case At My Forum

I can see that the charts are telling us the child was killed right away in a violent assault, mostly because the killer wanted that. I won't get into guessing as to why that may be. Mental reasoning and emotional motivations are hard to pin down in an astrology chart. However, I can track the body with the traditional markers in charts. I do this by running the charts forward. I drew up a chart for 4:30 pm to see what reflections I could find. In this chart, the first house ruler is Venus and it is in the ninth house. Saturn, the ruler of the dead body we are trying to track, is in the tenth. The tenth is the fourth from the seventh so I am going to venture a guess that the body is in this person's home. Venus, the actual first house ruler, is in the ninth. This again, describes a place either outdoors, in the woods or perhaps on an army base. The sign Gemini describes temporary housing, a place that is shared with another person or another person living in conjunction such as a duplex. It is in a neighborhood or housing complex, such as could be base housing. Also, because of the combination of the ninth house and the sign Gemini, look for a place that is near railroad tracks.

Saturn, which describes the body, is in the tenth house in the home. Saturn is in the sign Cancer so the body is in a place with water, such as the bathroom or laundry room. Saturn in Cancer is in fall so the body is in bad shape. It is broken in some manner, such as from a beating perhaps? Pluto is at the ascendant, so such violence is likely. Saturn is disposed of by the Moon in Aries at the descendant. Mars, which rules the seventh, is disposed of by Neptune, so he is secretly planning to hide the body. Neptune conjoined the node shows us that he was planning on putting the body in a place he was familiar with, a place he could return to if he wished. He had been planning all of this extensively. With the Moon in the sign Aries, I would guess that this place he was planning on was an area with hilly ground, that had recently been plowed or dug up for some purpose, a place where he was keeping or could get access to tools and weapons, and a place with an outside furnace. There are many references to furnaces and fire in these charts, so it is possible he took the body there to burn it. The chart do not show the burning of the body specifically but there are many directions indicating furnaces.

However, the chart I drew up last leaves me with some other details. The cluster of planets in the sixth house, including the seventh house ruler, Mars, and the chart co ruler, the Moon, again make me think this happened on a military base. There are clear markers for army / navy personnel. Both the ninth and the sixth houses with the signs Aries and Sagittarius. Mars in Pisces. Also, this chart for 5:30 shows us that he removed the body from his home and took the boy into the woods. Again, though, these woods look to be on an army base or near to army barracks. The Moon also rules the tenth house, showing the home of the abductor.

The movement of Saturn in the sign Cancer shows us the body standing still. Cancer describes the north, the tenth house shows us south. So this is no movement at all! So he took the child to an area near to his home and left the body there. If this was a military base, perhaps there was a wooded area where he could malinger without being seen? I think the combination of Saturn in Cancer with Moon in Aries is describing an area with disturbed ground and the body is not buried but barely covered over. Maybe covered with leaves and debris from the plowed or disturbed ground. But, from the very first chart, there are markers here for his plans to visit the body where he leaves it, so he wants it near to his home.

Which brings me to the descriptors for the abductor. Neptune in Sagittarius is the marker, which is asexual and does not guarantee that this was a man. It could have been a woman. Neptune infers someone light footed, shy, and not often noticed. Someone non descript. Sagittarius would give us someone very tall, in good physical condition, who enjoys sports and the outdoors. Neptune is known to give wavy hair and dimples so these may be markers. This person would be very obliging, going along to go along and not wanting to "raise a fuss". They are often victims of one sort while being manipulators and liars as well. There is a romantic and religious element here so this person may romanticize what he or she is doing, building it up to a fanciful dream in his or her mind. There is a love of travel and exploration; this person is likely to have traveled to foreign countries. There is also a love for religion and philosophy so this person was probably often in the local church, attending mass or bible study. Again, this person is demure and quiet, often goes unnoticed, is polite and does not cause trouble. In this manner, he or she has never been suspected of this crime and has very likely done this again, perhaps many times, in fact, and never been considered a suspect in any case.

Christine Jessop

Child Abducted From Home After School

From Kidnapping, Murder and Mayhem :

On October 3, 1984, at about 3:50 p.m., Christine Jessop, a pretty nine-year-old, got off her school bus, picked up her family's mail, and bounded into her home. No one was there--her father was at work and her mother was running errands. Sometime between 4:00 and 4:30, Christine walked into a nearby convenience store and bought a pack of bubble gum.

The Queensville, Ontario schoolgirl was never seen alive again, except by her killer.

When Janet and Kenneth Jessop returned home at about 4:10, they saw Christine’s book bag on a kitchen counter, as well as the mail and a newspaper. Unable to find Christine, they called her friends and searched the neighborhood and a nearby park. No one had seen her. Sometime between seven and eight o’clock, Janet called police.

Christine was a “normal little girl,” Janet told investigators. She liked sports, especially baseball. She could be a tomboy, but she also had a sensitive side. She loved her dog, Freckles, and other animals. Christine was four feet nine inches tall, and “weighed about 40 pounds soaking wet.” She attended Queensville Public School and was in the fourth grade. Her mother told police that Christine had no reason to run away.

Within minutes of being contacted, York Regional Police began a search of the area. After interviewing neighbors, cops began to turn their attention to the Jessop’s next door neighbor. Guy Paul Morin, 23, was weird, neighbors said. He lived with his mother and father and worked at Interiors International Limited, a local furniture store. He played saxophone and clarinet in a band. A beekeeper, he kept beehives in his back yard, another “oddity,” according to neighbors.

Morin had little contact with his peers. He worked, played music with his band, and stayed home. He didn’t go to pubs and drink, spending most of his time indulging in his hobbies. He also had a girlfriend. Even though he’d never been in any trouble with police, detectives thought the neighbor fit the profile of a child-killer.

When Morin’s mother was interviewed, investigators later testified that they found his actions “strange.” Detectives said that during the session he “stared straight ahead” and never spoke. His so-called suspicious behavior caused cops to further focus on Morin as their one and only suspect.

The furniture maker, however, had an alibi.

According to a later investigation into the wrongful conviction of Morin, the court wrote: “On October 3, 1984, Guy Paul Morin was at his place of employment at IIL. His time card confirmed that he left work that day at 3:32 p.m. He testified that he drove the family Honda north in the direction of his home. He stopped at the Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket on the way and purchased a lottery ticket from Susan Scott at the Infoplace Ticket Centre. He bought groceries at the Dominion Store. He may then have filled up his gas tank at a nearby gas station. He continued to shop at Loblaws and then at Mr. Grocers. He then drove north on Leslie Street, arriving home, he swore, between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. As he walked towards his house, his brother-in-law was leaving. They spoke briefly. Guy Paul Morin's parents and his sister, Yvette, were at home. He carried the groceries into the kitchen and then, he said, he napped until approximately 6:30 p.m. He had supper with his parents after which he worked with his father outside the house into the evening, using trilights as makeshift floodlights. At his second trial, the prosecution alleged that this alibi evidence was false and that the alibi put forward by Guy Paul Morin and his family had been concocted. (At the first trial, the prosecution contended that Guy Paul’s family [was] mistaken in their support of his alibi.)”

During the initial search for Christine, a police dog “hit” on the Morin’s car. A search of the vehicle turned up fibers that the Ontario Centre of Forensic Sciences later said belonged to Christine.

On December 31, 1984, Christine’s body was found in a field near Sunderland.

According to court documents, “Christine Jessop's body was on its back and her legs were spread apart in an unnatural position, with her knees spread outward. She was wearing a beige turtleneck sweater, a blue pullover sweater, a blouse from which some buttons were missing and a pair of white socks with blue stripes. Subsequently, it was determined she was in fact wearing two pairs of socks. Her panties were found at her right foot. Blue corduroy pants with a belt and a pair of Nike running shoes were found just south of her feet.”

An autopsy report revealed that Christine had been killed by multiple stab wounds to the upper body. Semen was found on her panties, but in 1984, DNA testing was still just a gleam in the eye of genetic biologists. There was no way to identify who the semen came from. Fortunately for Morin, the panties were stored in an evidence locker.

Since the child’s remains had been found in their district, the Durham Regional Police Service took over the lead in the case. Investigators met with the York Regional Police and were told to question Guy Paul Morin.

After further interviews, in which Morin continued to proclaim his innocence, he was arrested and charged with the murder of Christine Jessop.

The first trial took place in January, 1986. The prosecution’s theory was that Morin was an oddball who snapped on the day of the kidnapping. He raped and murdered Christine and then took her body several miles away to dispose of it. A technician from the Ontario Centre of Forensic Sciences testified that red fibers found in Morin’s car came from a sweater worn by Christine. This, the prosecution claimed, “linked” Morin to the murdered child. In addition, two jailhouse snitches, including one identified only as “Mr. X,” testified that while Morin was waiting in jail for his trial, he confessed to killing the girl.

On February 7, with little evidence against the suspect, he was acquitted by the jury.

That should have ended the case, but it didn’t. In Canada, the prosecution can appeal for a new trial if an accused person is acquitted. The prosecution did just that and won.

If a jury trial is a gamble, then Morin drew a dead man’s hand on his second trial. On July 23, 1992, he was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. The same jailhouse snitches, including the infamous “Mr. X,” were viewed more favorably by this jury. But it was said that scientists from the Quebec Centre of Forensic Sciences carried the day when they swore that fibers in Morin’s car matched fibers from a sweater worn by Christine and that a single hair on a necklace the child wore matched that of Morin.

Guy Paul Morin entered the prison as a child-killer. He was abused and raped by other inmates, even as his defense attorneys worked to get him a third trial.

An article from the National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys summarized what happened next. “While Morin's appeal was pending before the Ontario Court of Appeal,” it read, “a forensic DNA test [on the semen] unavailable to either party during the first two trials eliminated Morin as the perpetrator. On January 23, 1995, Guy Paul Morin's appeal of his conviction for murder was allowed based on the DNA report, his conviction was set aside, and a directed verdict of acquittal was entered.”

Morin was set free and was eventually awarded nearly $ 1.5 million dollars. An inquest to determine what went wrong was devastating to the Canadian criminal justice system. Testimony revealed that the prosecution withheld exculpatory evidence. Technicians in the forensic lab contaminated the samples presented to them and withheld that information from the defense. The prosecution was aware of the problems in the lab, but illegally chose not to reveal them to the defense. “Mr. X” and the second jailhouse snitch were coached by prosecutors and their sentences cut short for testifying against Morin. In the hearing, it became clear that cops and prosecutors zeroed in on Morin to the exclusion of all evidence, including an airtight alibi that would have cleared him.

An article in The Canadian Encyclopedia illustrates how hard cops worked to convict Morin. “Some of the most dramatic moments in the Morin inquiry came,” the article read, “when Janet and Ken Jessop alleged that two veteran Durham regional police detectives, Bernie Fitzpatrick and John Shephard, convinced them to alter their original versions of events. The Jessops originally told the detectives that they arrived home at 4:10 p.m...But Morin could not have made it home from work before 4:14. In order to convince the court that he had enough time to kidnap and murder Christine, the Jessops changed their story to say they arrived home at 4:35.”

This is an update on this case. I have had so many emails about this case over the past two years, many giving different facts, links and dates. At the time that I did this case my computer had crashed and I have since discovered that the dates and times I plugged into the charting software were wrong. Very wrong. As well, I received conflicting information from many sources and I was unsure at all times what the true timeline was. So the original post has been deleted and this update has been done. Consider this update the final analysis on this case and the only accurate one. In this matter, I would like to thank a special reader in Canada who not only called my attention to the errors in the charts but also went way out of her way to take a photo of Christine's grave stone, showing clearly her true date of birth. I cannot thank her enough for her love and concern for little Christine and to be sure that her case gets a fair reading. I am hoping that this is fair enough. I also used information I obtained from websites I consider to be careful with the facts. The above entry from Kidnapping, Murder and Mayhem dovetails with the facts I have gotten from many other sources.

The first chart I ran for this case was for the 3:50 time that the bus driver gave as the time when Christine got off the bus. Notice how the angular rulers, the first house, tenth house and fourth house rulers, are all in the ninth house with the seventh house ruler in the first. This shows us a number of people in a large vehicle, a vehicle made to ride on large roads and highways. This would be the bus. The Moon rules the seventh from the first, showing that there was someone on the bus with an interest in Christine. With the Moon in Aquarius in the first and disposed of by Uranus in Sagittarius in the tenth house, I believe this is a person associated with the school. Because the seventh house cusp is changing signs, I would be inclined to say that this is not her abductor. It is a safe bet to say she does not see this person again after leaving the bus. The north node in the fourth house shows this stop to be on the schedule, that it is a "planned" stop and not a flag stop (the node), and that it is close to Christine's home (the fourth house). But you have to also notice Mercury, the natural ruler of children and the ruler of the fifth house (also the natural house for children), is placed in the eighth house, under the Sun's beams. I am afraid Christine is already in grave danger. Before she ever gets off the bus, she is in danger. Severe danger of life and limb as the eighth house describes death and is part of a forming death pattern (I will talk about this more later). Notice also that the Sun and Mercury are both in the sign Libra, the sign of partnerships and contacts. She is about to make contact with someone for sure and most likely for a personal, and possibly "romantic" purpose. With the combination of Libra and the eighth house, there may be sexual purpose here as well. This is a good sign that the person she is about to meet has a sexual interest in Christine.

I am sure that her abductor was not on that bus. The planets in the ninth house are all disposed of by a planet in the eleventh house, showing these people to be friends of Christines. Other children and adults who were looking out for her. She was not in danger on the bus. But the time span in this case is so short, only about 15 minutes between the time she was last seen and the time when her parents came home and found her missing that it seems unrealistic to assume this was a stranger abduction. All the factors in the chart do seem to say that she knew her abductor, so perhaps this person was among the "friends" on the bus or knew these other people, as well? Because of these discrepancies, I am doing charts for every few minutes, trying to grab that instant when she was taken. I find the note that her jacket was hanging on a higher peg than she could reach is very telling. The question then becomes: who hung her jacket on that peg? And was her abductor at her home? And, if so, then when and where did she meet up with him?

The ascendant changes signs at 4:01 pm. Leo takes over the descendant and this is when the Sun comes into angular power, showing the arrival of her abductor. He is somewhere around her and she is about to meet him. Mercury is still under the Sun's beams in the eighth house. The seventh house ruler in the eighth house shows a desperate type, a person who lives as a criminal. This is the mark of the theif in a forensic chart for theft and the mark of the pervert or deviant in charts for crimes of a sexual nature. This was no innocent person who was led astray or first time rapist. This was someone who was living life as a criminal deviant. Mercury rules the fifth house so we can track Christine's movements through this planet. Notice that the charts appear to tell us that he followed her home before he snatched her, which matches the known facts. We know that Christine was seen at the store buying bubble gum sometime shortly after 4 pm. We also know that her parents arrived home at 4:10 to find her gone and her jacket left on the peg. We also know that she was never seen again.

What the facts tell us is that Christine left that home sometime between 3:50 pm, when she got off the bus, and 4:10 pm when her parents returned home. Looking at the charts for 4:01 and 4:05 pm, there are several important aspects that must be addressed. For one thing, the north node is right there at the cusp of the fourth, showing that he planned to take her from the front door. He had actually planned this and was waiting for her at her home. This is the nature of the node in this position. Another aspect that supports this theory is that Mercury and the Sun are both disposed of by Venus, which rules the fourth house cusp. This all the while the Moon is coming to the ascendant. Once again, this shows Christine to be a target and for this person to be waiting for her. The Sun is already right next to Mercury, within 5 degrees actually, showing her to be aware of his presence as early as 4:05. So he was there, at her house. This again supports my assertion that she knew this person and he knew her and this was not a random event. In fact, both the Sun and Mercury are disposed of by Venus in Scorpio in the ninth house, which hints at sexual contact. Venus is disposed of by Pluto so it feels forced. Venus is conjoined Pluto, again describing forcible sex. All this while, the first house ruler, Uranus, is in the tenth house, showing Christine either in a public place or will soon be in a public place. Especially with Uranus disposed of Jupiter in Capricorn, which is the best marker for a business operation there could ever be. This sounds a lot like the store she supposedly visited for bubble gum. And this all the while that the Sun and Mercury are together in the eighth house disposed of by Venus in Scorpio. The inference is there. This person has made demands of her in the past and she was aware of what he wanted. I am not saying she was willing. But I get the idea she did not feel she had a choice. Not with Pluto in this position as a co ruler of the tenth house. This person had a power over her and she was basically a victim.

It was merely a matter of minutes between the time she arrived and they left together, with her first taking her jacket off and most likely the taller boy or man hanging her jacket on the peg. The angular placements in this chart indicate that he knew who she was, he planned this all in advance and this was no random event. It was a tight squeeze in time for him to wait for her, grab her and escape her parents, who were only minutes away. This took careful and determined planning and patience. He really wanted her. And so he talked her into going to the store, perhaps, with the promise of bubble gum. This, all the while, he planned to force sex on her at some point along the way. There were reports of Christine having been molested by someone in the past; perhaps this was the same person? It felt like she knew him and that he had forced sex on her in the past. She seemed to be reluctantly submissive, allowing this to happen for some reason, which could be anything from fear to compassion. This was a desperate boy or man who lived his life in a criminal style, possibly using drugs, stealing money, raping women, being involved in gang activity or whatnot. He was not afraid to assert himself and resort to violence if need be.

The pointers in this chart are pretty clear. I will go over them again. The Sun and Mercury, snuggled together in the eighth house, show the abductor and Christine. These planets are disposed of by Venus in Scorpio in the ninth, snugged in between Saturn and Pluto. There are strong sexual overtones in this chart, showing a probable rape in the offing, especially with Pluto in Scorpio in dignity with Venus in Scorpio in fall. Nothing gentle or mercifiul in this combination. Just sheer desire. There have been stories that document molestation and even rape by neighborhood boys. This could very well be one of these boys. And before I move on to the birth chart for Christine, where I hope to make some more connections, I want to take a shot at describing this abductor. The Sun in Libra has descriptors for a male person who is rather tall and upright with attractive features. The Sun is in fall so this person has a weak character and a "follow the leader" personality. He would be a courteous young man with a pleasant personality and a strong interest in girls or women. I am not sure of his age. The Sun is disposed of by Venus in Scorpio, also in fall, so this young man is a slave to his desires, being driven by sexual urges The sexual urges start at a young age and the desire to "hook up" is a constant. This person would marry young after many flirtations and sexual liasions. In appearance, he would be either light brown or darkish blond with expressive eyes in a darker color like brown or blue gray. Also a ruddy, reddish complexion with a tendency to acne. There may be pimples on the cheeks. Also, look for dimples on the sides of the mouth or near the cheekbones. I have to mention again the weak nature of the character as this is a large component of the profile. This young man is changeable, lazy, unreliable and co dependant. He leans a lot on other people to get what he wants and is not willing to work.

Christine left her home a mere 6 or 7 minutes after she got off the bus. Her parents arrived less than 10 minutes after that event. I believe she knew her abductor and may have gone along reluctantly but willingly. I do not see a violent struggle. Mars, the tenth house ruler, is conjoined Neptune in Sagittarius in the eleventh house. There has been something secret going on between them in the past and for all intents and purposes they appear to be friends. In fact, they may have been friends for a long time. He could easily have gone to school with her and even been on that bus. However, there are no accounts of a young man or boy getting off the bus at the same time so I think it's safe to go with the theory that he waited for her at her home. This makes the most sense to me. It also dovetails with the nodal position at the nadir, where I can see that he planned to take her from her "front door".

Here is the chart for her day of birth. I do it for 7 am in NYC to show the time when the Sun is actually rising. Right away, you cannot miss all the planets in Sagittarius. These planets dovetail with the planets in Sagittarius in the eleventh house in the event chart. Uranus is transiting over her natal Neptune in Sagittarius, showing a secret that either comes to light suddenly or creates a new situation out of the blue. She had natal Mars and Mercury in Scorpio behind the Sun, telling us that she kept secrets. She was not straightforward about some things that were going on. With transiting Venus in Scorpio passing over her natal Uranus, it was likely that some unexpected event would occur. And with Saturn in Cancer in the eighth house, I would be worried about childhood death. Here are other factors that seem to have importance: transiting Moon and Mercury in Libra over her natal Pluto, showing violence. With Mercury under the Sun's beams, this seems to be amplified. And one more thing I'd like to note is the transit of her natal Mercury and Mars in Scorpio over the midheaven at the time of her abduction. I would dare to predict that a sexual event that may or may not lead to her death would make her famous. The tenth house rules the public, Scorpio rules sex and death, especially with Mars.

Looking at the fixed stars in the comparison between the transiting event chart and the birth chart, I have a few more things to point out. Transiting Uranus in Sagittarius is over her natal Venus in Sagittarius with the fixed star Ras Algethi very close nearby in 14 degrees of Sagittarius. Ras Algethi describes a "devious plot". Also, the fixed star Dschubba is in 10 degrees of Sagittarius, conjoining Uranus in the transiting event chart and Neptune in her birth chart. Dschubba describes "murder". And the final coupe de gras for me is the placement of the fixed star, Sinistra, near Neptune and Mars in the transiting chart at 28 degrees of Sagittarius. Sinistra describes "wanton lust" and "sexual attack". And this is just what happened here.

The attack on Christine was almost immediate. At the time her parents were arriving home, Pluto was entering the eighth house, showing sexual brutality. I beleive she actually died at 4:40 pm that same day as you can see Venus entering the eighth house at that moment. Venus is right behind Pluto, showing that she was attacked first and then died later. But not long later. She most likely died from a beating taken during the rape. Moon in the twelfth is the end all for me. She is definitely dead as soon as 4:40 pm and maybe a little earlier. And I don't think they waited before they dumped her. I might even be convinced that she was raped and killed right where she was found. Rape was a part of her murder, we know this due to the autopsy done on her body but here in the chart you can also see Pluto and Venus in Scorpio have entered the eighth house at the time of her death and are a part of a greater "death pattern". This infers rape and sex as a part of the sex act. She may well have been killed while he was having sex with her. Or he may have killed her and had sex with her after she had died. But the death pattern is clear. Mercury, the fourth house ruler, is in the eighth under the Sun's beams. Sun, the seventh house ruler, is also in the eighth, showing her murderer with her body as she dies. Moon, the chart co ruler, is in the twelfth house, showing her passing. The tenth house ruler is Jupiter, which is disposed of by Saturn (her bones). And Saturn is in the ninth house, showing her body left in the woods or in a wooded area outdoors. She was found in just such a place, supporting my theory that she was raped and killed right where she lay.

Douglas Stewart

Teen Killed While Sleeping

From the Ottawa Sun:

THE teenage son of a convicted murderer and drug dealer was found bludgeoned to death in an east-end apartment late Wednesday night.

The lifeless body of 19-year-old Douglas Stewart was found by a friend at about 11 p.m. in the bedroom of his 15th-floor apartment at 1240 Donald St. Ottawa Ontario in nice neighbourhood where i once lived at while he was living there as well

When the friend arrived, the front door was unlocked. Stewart was found lying in bed, his skull smashed by several blows from a blunt object. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment. Police have not yet determined a motive for the murder and no one is in custody. They said it doesn't appear anything had been stolen from the apartment.

It's the city's fourth homicide of the year.

Stewart's father Robert was convicted of first-degree murder four years ago in connection with the 1990 shotgun slayings of drug dealer Michel Giroux and his common-law wife, Manon Bourdeau, in Cumberland.

Now serving a life sentence in Collins Bay Penitentiary in Kingston, Robert Stewart says he was wrongfully convicted and has filed an appeal. Two other men who were convicted for the same murders have since won their bid for a new trial after one of the witnesses allegedly recanted his testimony. Robert has since been released from prison.

Information on Robert Stewarts case can be found at Injustice Busters

Police said yesterday they have no evidence that Douglas Stewart's murder is connected to his father's crimes, although neighbours said the youth often showed off a collection of news clippings about his dad.

"He would say, you don't know who I am? I'm a Stewart,' " said neighbour Martin Faubert, who lives just down the hall from Stewart's apartment and saw him frequently. "He tried to prove who he was."

Stewart dropped out of school in Grade 9 and didn't have a job. He worked briefly several years ago for an uncle installing security alarms but gave up the job after only a few weeks of work.

He was on welfare at the time of his death.

He had been charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, but those charges were dropped on Jan. 16.

He had also been seriously wounded last summer when he was stabbed in the back during a robbery at the South Keys transit-way station In the west end of ottawa Ontario. Despite the knife missing his heart by only inches, Stewart refused to co-operate with police, saying he "didn't trust them."

Relatives said Stewart often visited his dad at Collins Bay. His most recent visit was about three weeks ago, when he stayed for the weekend. "I think he kind of looked up to his dad," said neighbour Kealey von Tobel, 21.

He is also survived by brother Raymond and mother Linda. Faubert said the murder happened just days before Stewart planned to move out of the high-rise.

Police are still looking for several of Stewart's friends and associates. Anyone who knew Douglas Stewart or has information about his murder is asked to call police at 236-1222, ext. 5184.

This is an interesting case that was sent to me by my Canadian friend, Madena. I want to thank Madena and all of my loyal readers who send me cases to tackle. The whole idea is to see if we can find something that will help in solving these cold cases and, at the same time, further the science of Astrology. I am trying to put together some solved cases and show what Astrology would have told us in those cases but I am having a hard time finding solved cases with complete timelines. If you have such information on a solved case, please email me with the data. I wanted to do the Gainseville Ripper and Ted Bundy but there are no exact times or dates in any of these cases. Or, at least, I am unable to find them online. So, again, if you have them, please send them along.

I run charts back and forth for hours on end to try to find out what happened this night before this young man was brutally killed. I find some interesting leads. The first chart to show Douglas in the company of someone else is the chart for 7 pm. In this chart the first house ruler is Mercury and it is coupled with the seventh house ruler, Neptune, in the fifth house. This implies someone having a good time. The fifth house can mean gambling, playing games, partying, drinking, dancing, using drugs, watching (or playing) sports or having sex. This is definitely a fun house. The seventh house ruler is Neptune which hints at a few descriptors: someone secret, someone drinking or using drugs, someone who is a con or a thief, someone unknown. This person may have been a secret lover or this person could have been there to provide alcohol or drugs. This person may have been there to steal, lie or con Douglas. Or this person may have been previously unknown to Douglas and was a new acquaintance about whom he knew nothing. There are other descriptors assigned to Neptune but they make no difference in this case at this point in the analysis.

But please note that Neptune, Mercury and the chart co ruler, the Moon, are all grouped together in the fifth. This tells me that they were together because they wanted to be and they were having a good time. Mercury implies that Douglas was the younger of the two and Neptune implies that there were things unknown or hidden about his partner here. The Moon brings emotions and needs into the picture. Mercury also rules the tenth house which indicates that they are together in Douglas' residence. And this person was there because Douglas had invited him or her and had let this person inside. There was no forced entry here. But there are ominous signs in this chart already. Notice Jupiter, the fourth house ruler, was just behind the ascendant in the twelfth house. Notice also Saturn in the tenth. Venus in Aries in the eighth house and Pluto in Sagittarius in the fourth. I do not like what this infers. The eighth house ruler is Mars and it is placed together with the node in the ninth house. There is the probability that this conjunction will move into the eighth house in a short time. Does this person plan to kill him? Is this why this person is there? It looks very possible to me.

The tough aspect for me is the fourth house ruler in the twelfth and being the dispositor of Pluto in the fourth. The fourth is the place from which all else springs forth, which is why it often defines our home, family or base of operation. Pluto brings violence and chaos with it; it's presence in the angles guarantees a big change in some matter. But things remain the same in these charts until around 8:30 pm when things change drastically. In this next chart for 8:30 pm we see that the seventh house ruler is now Aries with Mars still in the eighth conjoined the node. This is what I knew would happen when I first looked at the charts for 7 pm. Venus, the first house ruler, is in the seventh. This reinforces what we already know, that he is with someone he considers a friend, partner, lover or associate. This person could also be a competitor or an enemy but since Douglas is unemployed and does not play sports I eliminate competitor although enemy is still a possibility. But would you allow a known enemy into your home and have fun with them? The fifth house is a loaded house with angular planets placed there so having a "good time" is a big part of this scenario. With the combination of the seventh house ruler in the eighth, the first house ruler in the seventh and the Moon in the fifth, I want to say that this is his lover. Someone who is there to have sex.

But Mars conjoined the node in the eighth and Saturn at the tenth house cusp worry me. Although it could be said that Mars and the node in the eighth describe a prearranged sexual liaison, with these aspects it looks like either rough sex or outright aggression. The aspects I'm referring to include Mars as ruler of both the eighth and the seventh, the first house ruler disposed of by Mars, the fourth house ruler at the ascendant and square Venus, the Moon in the fifth square Mars in the eighth, Moon conjunct Neptune, Neptune square the Node and the fourth house ruler trine Uranus in the fifth. It looks like a drug induced sex frenzy that went violent. What does it look like to you? Do you have another take on this chart? If so, please post it in comments, post it on the forum for open discussion or email it to me and I will share it with my readers. Saturn in Cancer square Venus in Aries is a dynamite stick in this chart. Both planets are in fall but rule angular houses. The square becomes a feature aspect in the chart. Ditto for Mars square the Moon. Mars is also in fall, although the Moon is neutral, but both rule angular houses with the Moon also co ruler of the entire chart. This is another powerful aspect. There is no aspect between Mars and Venus, though, which hints to me that these people were not "an item" or a couple, per se. I believe they were having a hidden fling, something no one else knew about. They were "secret lovers" who planned trysts like this.

Discuss This Case At My Forum

The square aspects between the two groupings tells us even more. The grouping surround each angular planet, as if taking up sides. The first house ruler has a grouping of planets working with it that square to the seventh house ruler and it's grouping of planets. Mars, the node and Saturn all appear to be working together while Venus is aligned with the Moon and Neptune. With both Mars and Venus in fall these are weak points in the chart to begin with, showing that these people were evenly matched in their energies, which appear to be negative. At the same time, they were in conflict. I know this is complex and hard to follow but what it boils down to is that these people had nothing more in common than their casual relationship which appears to have involved sex and at the same time, some dislike for one another. They did not get along at all outside of their sexual activity. Douglas was the gentler, kinder of the two with Venus, the Moon and Neptune working with him. His partner, shown to be ruled by Mars, is more abrasive and difficult. This violent streak did not sit well with Douglas who, in some ways, feared this person. I am not sure at this point whether this person is male or female. I have no knowledge whatsoever of Douglas' sexual orientation. But whether this was a male or female I will way that this was a possessive, demanding, highly sexed, easily aroused individual who often acted out. This type of behavior did not sit well with Douglas, who liked his freedom, was more of a loner and liked to run his own ship. So there were conflicts. But did this person plan to kill him?

I believe the murder occurred at around 9 pm. At just before 9 pm the Moon, along with Neptune, moves into the fourth house. At just a few minutes after 9 pm, the first house ruler, Venus, moves into the sixth. Venus is also the eighth house ruler. Mars and the node remain in the eighth. Also, within a few minutes after 9 pm, the twelfth house ruler, Mercury, also slides into the fourth. He did not die immediately, it seems. It took a few minutes. The Moon also squares the eighth house cusp at 9 pm and Venus squares the midheaven at the same moment. The angles are firing off at all points at this hour. I think Mars square the Moon from the eighth to the fourth houses shows the actual beating. With Mars in Taurus, the sign of the boxer, I would say he was beaten with bare hands before he was also hit with an item made of earth materials like wood, steel or stone. This item could have been a decorative item or a tool of some sort. It would have been thick and heavy. With the node so close to Mars in Taurus it may well be something the killer brought with them to do this very thing. I do believe some of this was planned.

Because Douglas has been found and there is no question that he was murdered, then the important thing we are looking for here is who did it. There is no doubt that the murderer is described by the seventh house ruler, Mars in Taurus. As you can guess, this would give a muscular body with a stocky appearance. Short to medium stature. Mars gives a reddish color to the skin and the complexion would be muddier than average, giving an overall "ruddy" flush to the skin. Mars gives red in all shades and Taurus gives brown so this is reddish brown hair. Mars gives electricity to the hair and Taurus gives thickness so this is full hair that is a bit frizzy or curly. There is a bit of roughness to the appearance; a rugged sort although not athletic or adventuresome in regular activities. Actually, this person is inclined to be lazy and self indulgent. Discipline may be lacking. There is most likely an oval or round shaped face with a scar somewhere on either on the cheeks (Venus rules Taurus) or the neck. There may be injuries to the neck that may cause mechanical problems; whiplash, subluxations, arthritis, etc.. Mars in Taurus makes one ambitious for money and material comforts and willing to slave away at a job in order to obtain luxuries. They may work with their hands in a creative or artistic fashion. They make talented artists, crafters, singers, dancers, designers, musicians, landscapers, beauticians, sculptors, laborers, bricklayers or bakers. This person could work at any of these occupations or could be self employed in the trades. On the other hand, this person is lazy about doing anything at all that does not render payment. This is a self centered descriptor that can make one self indulgent and selfish in general. Remember please that this is not a referendum on Mars in Taurus and that the natal position in a birth chart is subject to influences from the other planets and signs in the same chart. This is a bare bones, basic descriptor of the overall influences of the purest elements of this position and is meant to be used as a guide in defining the subject. This person is not guaranteed to be a Taurus, to have Mars in Taurus or any other planet in the sign Taurus. This is just a descriptor, that's all.

The lack of contact between both Mars and Venus in the charts for this event tell us that these two people were not married, engaged, involved as a "couple" or known to be partners. The presence of Neptune as a player in the charts hints that there were secrets, something hidden. Was this a secret alliance? Did they have a secret thing going? Perhaps this person was married to someone else. Or perhaps they were the same sex. Or perhaps one was much older or was another race. All of these factors are often reasons for people to hide their relationships. I just cannot tell from these charts which is the case. Mars is on the descendant which makes one think this was another male and that this was a secret gay liaison. But Mars in Taurus, a feminine sign disposed of by Venus, so this makes a female a possibility, too. Venus is in the seventh house, giving more reason to think this is a female, but remember that Venus is the first house ruler, which is the chart marker for Douglas, who is male. So this hints at a gay affair again. There is a lot of intensity in the play between these two subjects. This is shown by Venus in the seventh disposed of by Mars and Mars in the eighth disposed of by Venus. This is called "mutual reception" and it creates a kind of vacuum where the two planets actually get entangled. So this intensity rules out the idea that this was a one night stand and makes a bigger case for this being an ongoing love affair with a lot of emotional involvement.

Cheryl Ann Hanson

Little Girl Still Missing After 36 Years

From the Doe Network:

Cheryl Anne Hanson
Missing since May 31, 1974 from Aurora, Ontario, Canada.
Classification: Endangered Missing

Vital Statistics

Date Of Birth: July 25, 1966
Age at Time of Disappearance: 7 years old
Height and Weight at Time of Disappearance: 4' 0" - 122 cm; 51 lbs - 23 kg
Distinguishing Characteristics: White female. Blond hair; blue eyes.
Clothing: Cheryl was wearing dark brown check sweater and pants combination, a red nylon jacket / coat and white leather shoes. She also wore a gold necklace with a medallion on it. She was heading to her cousin's for a sleepover and was carrying her white pajamas with red flowers in a brown paper bag.

Circumstances of Disappearance

Cheryl disappeared from Ontario, Canada in 1974. She left her residence around 18:30 to walk down Bloomington Side Road to her cousin's home 10 minutes away. She never arrived.

Thousands of volunteers, including police, CB radio operators, aircraft and Queen's York militia units, scoured the region for weeks in an unprecedented search of York Region. Cheryl Anne was never found.

Convicted murderer Donald Everingham confessed to several murders, including that of Cheryl Hanson. He described Cheryl's clothes and drew a crude map of where he'd thrown her body. But the newspapers had been full of Cheryl's description and extensive police searches in the area he indicated never uncovered her body. Donald Everingham's confession was eventually refuted.

***********************

I wanted to do this case because I always want to do cold cases on kids who disappear. They are almost always taken for nefarious purposes and usually die within a few hours of the abduction. It's amazing to me that so many are missing for so long and without a single clue or lead. It just seems to defy reason. When a child like this, only 7 years old, goes for a short walk in the neighborhood and just disappears it crushes that sense of security we feel in our own homes. If your child can't walk among the neighbors and interact with other children in that area without being molested, abducted or killed, then our safety nets have all been so badly torn I am not sure they can be repaired. This case was just another child case that got to me.

It was a hard one to do, again, because of the house rulership choices I have to make when analyzing children's cases. Is it the first house or the fifth? Do I use a house ruler or just use Mercury? Do I use both? What about the Moon? Is this Mom or is this the child? All questions that are only answered by looking at the chart and going with the gut instinct. In this case, because the child was on her own, albeit for a very short while, I used the first house. As far as the other markers go, I went with the charts as they presented new information each hour. First of all, I chose not to use Mercury because, from the onset, Mercury was in the eighth house which would make the child dead in real time long before she left home. I was going to go with my hunch that this was not the case and use the first house ruler as her marker.

In the chart I drew up for the time the child left home, I see that Scorpio is rising. On the fifth house cusp is Pisces with the Moon in Libra. Mercury, the traditional marker for children, is in the eighth house. Mars is in the ninth and Neptune is in the first. Neptune is disposed of by Jupiter in the fourth.
What does this tell me? Well, Mars rules the first house and it is in the ninth, showing the child to be outdoors, in a wooded or natural setting. Mars is in Cancer, disposed of by the Moon, which co rules the chart, and is placed in the twelfth. The child is walking in an area not easily seen from the outside; it is an insular area with many hiding places. Moon is conjunct Uranus, which rules the fourth house, so the child is walking by a house in the neighborhood along her path. Taurus is on the seventh house, so this describes the person she is "next to meet". Venus is in the sixth, while both the Moon and Uranus are disposed of by Venus, showing us that there is a person in a home in the same neighborhood came across the child. Neptune, which shows that all of this was unseen, is disposed of by Jupiter, which is in the fourth. This was sudden opportunity created by the fact that this person lived right close nearby and saw the child. Venus in the sixth also tells me that this person was very sick; there was something very wrong here.

Just 15 minutes later, the chart has changed ever so slightly and I can see what happened here. The Moon and Uranus have traveled from the twelfth to the eleventh house. Neptune remains in the first, disposed of by Jupiter in the fourth with these planets in mutual reception. This was a hidden action that came from sudden opportunity; this was a neighbor who spotted the child and snatched her. Just that fast. Moon moving into the eleventh house shows that the child was taken into their home and, with Pluto nearby, probably by force. All of these planets are disposed of by Venus in the sixth, showing us once again that all of this happened because this person is sick. This could be mental illness or physical illness and I am not sure which right now. If this person was physically ill there may have been a need for unpaid help around the house. Many a child has been snatched and made a slave and not all of it is about sex. However, the possibility of mental illness also exists and the safety of the child could be in question. I just cannot say that for sure at this point.

At 7 pm, the charts get a bit scarier. Mars, the first house ruler, has now moved into the eighth, along with the eighth house ruler, Mercury. Mercury, by the way, is also the traditional marker for children. The eighth house co rules both sex and death. It will be up to use to dope this out. The thing that stands out to me and hangs around, making me nervous, is the conjunction of Mercury to Saturn in the eighth. This makes me think that there was a dead child in the house or that children had died in that house or that children's bodies were buried in that house. Any way you look at it, this is sort of disturbing. And the fact that these planets are disposed of by the Moon, which is the chart co ruler, it sort of makes me think this is why this person needed Cheryl. The other children had died. In relation to the abductor, you can see that Venus is in Taurus and is in dignity and disposes of itself. This makes it powerful and inscrutable. This person had the upper hand in every way and things were just going right for him or her, making the abduction easy and satisfying. He or she got what they wanted. In contrast, the childs' ruler, Mars, is in Cancer, which is in fall and a weak, ineffectual placement. The child had no power in this matter, there was no fighting this off, the will and strength were not there. The child was easily manhandled and cowed. She was very frightened and did whatever she was told.

Also at 7 pm I see that Pluto, the co ruler of the first house, has moved into the tenth house. This is the fourth house from the seventh, showing us the abductors home. This is where the child was taken. No doubt about it. A home nearby, in the same neighborhood, within sight of the path where she would have been walking. A quick spot of the child, a dash and grab. Sad and scary but a lesson in how quickly and easily children can be snatched or even convinced to follow along. The Sun has no rulership in this chart but it is angular in the seventh house, in the sign Gemini. This makes me think the kidnapper was a male. It isn't written in stone, just a hunch. Gemini is asexual and does not indicate one sex or the other. But the Sun is a male planet. So take it or leave it. Because the Sun is also disposed of by Mercury, the natural ruler of children, I must say that this person, male or female, was intent upon children and had abducted children in the past and probably since. And last but not least, in the chart for 7 pm, Neptune angular in the first house shows us the abductor presenting himself to the child, from a secret place, in a secret, unseen fashion. Clever and sneaky this person is. He has a lot of people fooled, not just the children.

The thing that really surprises me about the charts in this case is that I do not see a car. I would have thought a car or other vehicle was involved with the child being snatched and then driven away. It just makes sense. But the charts do not show a vehicle, I challenge anyone to study them and find a car here. It is true that the ninth house is often the third house of the abductor (shown by the seventh) and in this chart, Mars is in the ninth. But Mars is the first house ruler and if we continue to use Mars as the marker for the child, then this would seem to say the child was driving the assailants car. But we know this can't be true. So there is no car in this event; the child was taken from the street and carried or dragged away to a nearby place. The area around the path was investigated and searched extensively and nothing of Cheryl was found, not even the bag with her pajamas. But the chart has heavy emphasis on the tenth house, which is the fourth from the seventh and indicates the abductors home. So she was taken to the abductors home right away and held there.

The thing about this chart that stands out the most for me is the appearance of a death pattern. We have had Saturn and Mercury together in the eighth house all along and now Mars, the co ruler of the first house, has arrived in the eighth. Mercury is still the eighth house ruler and Jupiter is in the fourth. With these planets and Pluto in the tenth, showing violence in the home, he is going to kill this child. He is going to do it right away. Mars entering the eighth shows a sexual attack right at the time the child is taken inside, at around 7-7:30 pm. The chart for 7:30 pm has Venus entering the fifth house and Neptune slipping into the twelfth so I think this is a sexual attack and murder that occurs within an hour of her abduction. Venus rules the seventh and is placed in the sixth, still showing us how sick this man is. When Venus moves into the fifth he has her with him and he molests her as soon as possible. Like a disposable toy, I suppose. Use it and toss it. How sad. And yet the fast moving nature of these planets and placements combined with the steady sexual and death related aspects this was the point of the kidnapping all along, to rape and murder this child. And to do it quickly. She was dead by 7:30 that evening, before the searching actually really began.

The chart for 8:30 pm shows that things change rapidly after a murder. The seventh house is now ruled by Mercury and you will note that Mercury is now joined with Saturn in the seventh house, a short distance from the Sun. Mercury now rules the abductor and Saturn is the body of the child. They are together in the "abductors place", which I would assume is his home or safe haven. The Sun is angular, almost right at the seventh house cusp, reinforcing male energy so I am positive enough now to say that her abductor was a male. The Sun is also disposed of by Mercury. Like all murder charts, this one is entangled with lots of aspects and placements that reflect and feed into one another. There is always an intimate entanglement between murderer and victim, if for nothing but the personal nature of the crime. Sadly, Mars remains in the eighth, disposed of by the Moon, the co ruler of the chart, telling me that this child died violently. Mercury conjoined Saturn in Cancer square to Pluto in Libra the child was smothered to death, mostly by pressure to the chest area (Cancer) which cut off the airways (Libra). Moon in Libra in the tenth disposed of by Venus in Taurus in the fifth, the crushing occurred during a sexual act. Quite efficient and very cold. This man has done this before and will do it again. He may very well be the one who killed the other missing children in this area, including Christine Jessop. Wow. He is really bad and needs to be caught.

Neptune in the first disposed of by Jupiter in the third, he removed the child from the house and hid her elsewhere. Mercury disposed of by Moon in the tenth, he put her somewhere outdoors. In a very open area, like a field or a large tract of undeveloped land. Sagittarius points to an area southeast of where she was taken and as Neptune moves into the twelfth, there is even more emphasis on east. Sagittarius points to wooded areas where hunters go or where people engage in activities like horseback riding, archery or physical sports like tennis or golf. Jupiter in Pisces shows us a large body of water and a place where pleasure activities are enjoyed on the water like boating and swimming. When looking at the same region where she was taken from and then moving southeast towards where he had taken her, the body of water is in the northern portion of that region. So if you were to move southeast of that area where she was taken and then look for the next large body of water in that direction, then you would section off an area with that body of water at the northern most point and look further south from there for a large meadow or open field. Both Jupiter and Sagittarius describe great distances and large open areas, so this is quite a bit southeast from where the child lived. Sagittarius further describes an area with high, sloping ground in areas and smaller bodies of water on the western side. So this is a large open field or meadow south of a large body of water but edged on the west by smaller lakes or ponds. She is in one of the lakes or ponds. This is the nature of Saturn in Cancer. Her bones are in the water while the conjunction of Mercury to Saturn describes meadows and fields nearby. Neptune in the twelfth indicates that she was really well hidden in the water and maybe even weighted down. Although I'd be more inclined to guess that she had been wrapped up in something that made her sink faster, something like a heavy blanket or plastic bag.

From all appearances in these charts, this man is a murder machine. He is out to rape and murder small children in a vicious fashion and to do it with dispatch. He does not keep them alive for long and if he retains them at all it would be after death. He might like to keep them in death for awhile. I do not believe he did that with this child. The planets move too quickly. This dovetails with the rush to search that occurred not longer after the abduction and the probability of the cops finding the child if he kept her too long. He put her in a car (Jupiter in the third) which was probably a truck or other large vehicle and not a small car. Pisces in the third also makes me think he may have used a boat to carry the body farther out into the lake to drop her in deeper water.

This man is defined by Venus in Taurus. This does not mean he is a Taurus, that he has a placement of Venus in Taurus or anything other than the fact that he is defined by the nature of this position. He is probably a large man with a love of food and luxury. Venus in Taurus is in dignity so he is in a very strong position within his lifestyle, protected in some way. There is no doubt he loves to eat and indulge himself. He has an affinity for sweets. He is also a crafty, creative and artistic person who enjoys expressing himself. He is likely quiet, reserved and private and people know who he is but they do not know him well. His home would be plush and well appointed with soft finishings. Because Venus in Taurus can also imply some degree of femininity, this man may have gender identity issues. He may have doubts about his sexuality or sexual prowess. Venus is sextile to Mercury in the event chart so he feels comfortable and safe with children in a way he does not with women or adult men. But we must also note that Venus placed in the sixth house at the time of the abduction asserts that this man is sick in some way, mentally ill perhaps, and out of control with an urgent need. I often see this placement in drug addicts or people who are crazy. To do this, this man no doubt had an infernal need to kill these children and this is very sick, indeed. But the strength of the planet Venus in the sign Taurus tells us that he was protected at the time in some way and would not be caught. In the future, he may not be so gifted by circumstance and finally be caught. This little girl deserves justice.
